Just Signed Up to My First Autoresponder Service (Pro-Follow), I'm Confused, What's Next?

I just set up my autoresponder service with Pro-follow, meaning I signed up, set up my opt-in box and adjusted the settings for the very first outgoing email that gives the subscriber the link to access my site.

I'm confused as to what's next.

What's the best way to set up an email that sends anyone who subscribes to my email list my free, confidential report? Is there anything that should be included in an email like this (beyond your attached ebook of course )

Is there another email I need to send to introduce myself?

Your suggestions would be much appreciated.

    The first follow up email should contain a download link to your report in a zip file. Also in that email you can thank them for subscribing and to expect more helpful emails from you in the future.

    Setup a followup email to automatically send out 1-3 days after asking them how they liked your report. Ask them to send you their feedback..likes/dislikes to help you get future product ideas.

    Perhaps direct them to a blog post or page on your site where you are "selling" the free report. Once they leave great comments it helps others decide to get the free report (social proof).

    Now, continue to broadcast to your list once per week with helpful valuable emails. Once you gain that trust and relationship you can start promoting your new products to them.

    Pretty simple description but that is the basics...

      Thanks for the valuable feedback, but I'm a bit confused (just a bit ). Initially, when I set up my account, Profollow had me approve and/or adjust the settings for their welcome email that goes out after a person sends his/her name and email address. Is THIS the email that I should be attaching my file to and modifying, or should I send out a COMPLETELY different one that has my ebook attached?

    Good suggestions skorpion I would recommend more than once a week but at the least its fine. Your first autoresponder message should contain the download links to all the free products that you promised when your subscriber signed up.
