Proactive Public Relations- 3 Things that you need to do today.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. If you are not having a wonderful day, or if you feel like you need to change it up in your business or even if you are just starting out I am hoping I can share with you something positive that can help steer you back on the right track.
I've been reading some great books recently about online engagement and public relations- especially how social media and Web 2.0 has changed everything- and I wanted to share a couple of tips with you that I hope you find useful. They were certainly intriguing to me.
Set up social media profiles- This is something that I would have thought was a waste of time, especially if you were not going to use some of the social media websites but the explanation given really resonated. You need to protect yourself from identity theft!
At least if you have registered on all the major social media sites no one else can register your name. You may also find as you move along that your audience is moving and you may need to start utilizing these sites yourself. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and LinkedIn are free to set up so do it today. Do yourself a favour and register at Blogger and Wordpress as well.
Register more domain names- Don't let a disgruntled customer hijack your domain name your should register variants of your domain name for example ending with sucks.com. E.G. yourbusinessnamesucks.com. Don't let some disgruntled customer or blackhat internet marketer hijack your business and the Google rankings.
Create Content and Share It- The game has changed and we are now a content driven economy. More and more people are getting online for information. We all know this. That is why we are in the internet marketing field. But there are still many people, I'm sure some of you are reading this post, that are not constantly creating new and valuable content- or at least sharing valuable content.
You can write articles, blog posts, Facebook notes, Tweets and even Forum posts.
You do need to make sure that your content is useful and new. Don't rehash the same old crap that someone else has put out there before you. Have your own opinion and share something new- people will love you for it.
Don't procrastinate. There is always something that you can do to improve your business. If you are in a rut try doing some of the things I have mentioned above. They may improve your business more than you can imagine.
