What To Do About Extreme Frustration?

Warriors...

Recently, I've set up 3-4 blogs following some advice from a WSO I purchased a month ago. I've been following simple rules to add to the blog etc to keep google happy, but am just not getting a lot of traffic?

I'm promoting a couple of 50+ gravity products from Clickbank via my hoplinks on the sites...

I don't have the $$$ for much PPC so would love any advice on getting more traffic to these blogs...e.g. regular article submission, adding a post everyday, etc...

Thanks for any and all enligt

    UKCARL,

Good keyword research should have been the FIRST item! Competing with the big guns will surely cause a lot of frustration for a newbie.

Definitely agree. It takes a long time to start seeing traffic from google. Go articles, article base, article alley, article snatch, ezine articles all work pretty good for some traffic. Comment on similar blogs in your niche to get traffic and backlinks as well..do seo for articles you post..etc

Yes, the keywords are the key. But it's not too late to add in some good ones if you don't already have them.

What have you been doing to promote it? IMHO, you need to be submitting articles, doing blog commenting, social bookmarking, creating other "properites" at places like blogger, tumblr etc.. to put your links on, forum marketing (or at least profile and sig links) etc...

These days you need to take MASSIVE action, not just submit a couple of articles here and there (not saying that's what you have done but it's the most common problem I see with people that buy blogs from me and then can't get traffic)

May I ask what niche you are in and how many page views you receive a day.

Another option would be to try different revenue streams for example adsense AND cpa. Clickbank converts quite low usually like 1-2% in my experience I am promoting some CPA offers at the minute that convert at over 20% and my best adsense site currently converts at about 8% CTR

OK then, article marketing will bring in a lot of links. You need to put up more sites because if you wait for your sites to get rankings before putting up more sites, you won't get very far. Also, iSnare has an article distribution service which works pretty well.

    Hey Tehering,

I've been managing businesses online for over a decade and I can tell you that slow and steady wins the race. So, my first suggestion is that you keep a long term focus. As far as traffic is concerned, I recommend that you consider SEO and PPC marketing.

I have successfully used traffic exchanges as well but that takes a slightly different approach. Reach out to others in your niche and start to build partnerships. Someone out there might be willing to do a joint promotion with you using their list. As always, the power is in the list!

Good point why not add an optin to your site and offer free info on your niche then you can follow up with an auto responder.

Build trust and you may find your self with a responsive list who buy again and again

Have you tried asking other websites in your niche on link exchange? That is one way to get some good link juice for free. But you first need to build your PR up some (more content + more basic link building), and make sure your sites are up to standard before you go around asking for link exchanges. It does work. One of the more underrated link methods these days (but more valid than ever).

That's a good suggestion. Many of these sites run link exchange scripts and is not that hard to get some relevant back links. I once hired a data entry person for a week and got my client over 140 relevant and decent PR back links. You can try that route too.

Google up "PHP Link Manager", you will see that most webmasters interested in link exchange programs use this script written in PHP on their sites. This way webmasters don't have to bother with the manual work that comes with screening a site for possible link exchange.

So, I got this ex-colleague of mine who runs a data entry company to look up the sites which use 'PHP link manager' and are relevant to my niche and had him submit my info to the sites link exchange site. Note that I didn't mean link exchange directories, but sites like yours and mine which are interested in exchanging links.

Here are some examples of such sites which use the PHP link manager:
ZOOMCREATOR.COM | COMMUNITY PORTAL LINKS TO VRML AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Submit your Links in any category Free

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help anyhow.

My best advice would be this:

Somehow FIND the money to advertise on PPC like Google and Yahoo. This is the best way to get more and more traffic. I would not rely on FREE traffic to make sale although the sound of it is great.

"What to do about Extreme Frustration?" - my advice is to Take Extreme Action!

Getting traffic comes down to producing content around a series of long-tail keywords that also takes into account basic symatic relevance with other keywords that Google sees as important (you can get this from the Google Keyword Tool).

      Yes - post everyday

Yes - on every post aim to get a conversation going with your prospects - that way if they comment it keeps the content fresh and adds keyword relevance over the long term

yes - write articles and link back to specific blog posts

Yes - build a Twitter and Facebook following and link back to your blogs

If you are doing this, it will not take long for traffic to build.

When you see low traffic - what are your average daily visits?

As already mentioned, do the proper keyword research, asses the competition and then build and promote. Try asking the product owner, for their product and do a video on youtube and explain the benefits of the product.

Besides this, do a massive article marketing campaign with optimized articles from the title to the resource box. Both of these methods work, just gotta stay with it.

Great ideas! When you say optimized articles from title to the resource box, you're talking about my primary keyword phrase(s) and using it in the title of my articles as well as using in my resource box, e.g. my site name, yes?

Title,Body,Resource box's anchor. Yes, having a site that has good onpage SEO, is always a benefit. I highly recommend you get a tool such, as market samurai to do your keyword research. If you fail on the keyword research aspect, your chances of making money is slim to none.

The first thing you have to do about your extreme frustration is to get used to frustrations and simply go ahead.

I don’t think that using Adwords would help you in any way if you don’t know how to use it. You’ll spend a lot of money and perhaps make zero sales.

The best free traffic generating methods online are:

    1. Article writing and marketing – this involves posting your articles not only to the best article directories like ezinearticles.com as well as to many websites related to your topic, which accept articles from contributors. If you have no talent on article writing you should care about learning the basics.

    2. Yahoo Answers – Only Yahoo lets you post your links without any problems. Forums have many rules, you waste a lot of time participating on conversations, there are many people far from being polite in most forums, etc. At Yahoo Answers you don’t need to talk to anyone; you simply answer a question posting your links and sending traffic to your websites. Of course, your answer must be related and helpful, and you have to answer quickly in order to appear in the beginning of the answer’s list. However it’s a very effective traffic generating method and your answers remain online, sending you traffic each time someone cares about them.

    3. Squidoo lenses. Their creation is free and very simple. Once you learn the basic techniques necessary you’ll easily create many Squidoo lenses about your topic in a very short period of time. They are like mini-sites. You have to create a few of them in order to start receiving traffic from them. They work also as a passive income because you sell many other products there, and you expose automatically a great variety of products since you let Amazon, Cafepress and eBay pick your products for you based on your main keyword, and they keep exposing different products all the time. So, your Squidoo online store is constantly being renewed and exposing new merchandise. At the same time it keeps sending traffic to your websites, blogs or affiliate products.

    4. Link-building. You have to look for websites with high page rank (PR 9,8,7) and post your comments there, with your link in your signature, so that you may have backlinks from these sites. This way you’ll improve your blog’s ranking. Here is a way to verify a website’s PR: Google PageRank Checker - Check Google page rank of any web pages You may find more information about this matter online. Don’t leave your links in websites with high PR that are not related to your topic because your comments will be deleted and you’ll be considered a spammer. Look for websites related to your topic and leave nice comments. Don’t write two or three words like all spammers do. Write something interesting and helpful for the author, and for the public.

    5. Be patient and persistent. Be a good student and care about learning something very well before deciding to invest all your time and energy on it.

    6. Most successful people pass through many frustrations and various deceptions before attaining a higher position in life.

Of course the best way to keep from becoming frustrated is to simply do nothing. If you don't try something you can't fail. Works like a charm. Problem is you can't succeed either.

If you are frustrated it must mean you are trying something. So you are half way there. Just getting the average person to try something can be a task. So pat yourself on the back and keep on keeping on. Lots of good advice in this thread. This is what works for me.

Writing and submitting articles. I know I can hear the groans from here. But it really is simple. But you have to go to a very strange place to make it work. Most folks have not been to one of these places since they got their first computer. They still call these places libraries and they have these magical little books called dummies or Idiot's guides.

Lets say you want to build a site about solar energy and you would like to have 10 articles. Five to put on the site and five to submit one a day to article directories. So you pick up the Solar Energy for Dummies book. Open it to any chapter and read two pages. Take a few notes. Resist the temptation to copy anything directly. Just reword it in your own style. I guarantee you can have your first article in about 30 minutes and once you get the hang of it you will do even better.

Another technique I use is to go to Amazon and find a product you need articles for. Look at all the manufacturers descriptions and again make notes. Your article could then be Current Methods Of Producing Solar Energy.

        Sample:

In Today's rapid changing technology especially in the solar power field new products become available almost daily. Below are just 5 of the current products available.

Solar giant produces a panel called Sungrid which is claimed ..........like that.

Once you get started it is hard to stop. You will soon find your writing just flows. I recently submitted an article to a number of directories based on mountain bike terms.

If You Are Going To Purchase A Mountain Bike You Will Need To Learn A few New Words.

Then I just looked up various mountain types of mountain bikes, which I know absolutely nothing about, and described each one. The problem with this style of writing is that it is hard to stop at 400 words because it just flows once you get started.

I have a friend who has been a radio personality for years. He wants to build blogs but says he can't write. I almost fell off my chair when he said that. He has been talking for 5 hours a day for years and can't write. I told him to get a voice recognition software and just go to work.

Certainly there are other methods of finding traffic as are listed in the above threads. But article writing is one that costs nothing and you will be the toast of the next party with all that knowledge you gain from writing articles. Want to know something about mountain bikes? Give me a call.

By the way keep up the good work. You have done the hard part and put up your first site. Now just like walking keep on moving.

        Best of luck.

        Chet Hastings
