Are blogs and articles the same thing?

Hi, I'm new to all this, and have recently started a backpacking blog. I expect to have around 10 - 15 posts with useful information/advice, things that I would have liked to know when I started out.

I also expect to be blogging regularly, a couple of times a week... now, there's only so much beginners advice I can give, so I expect there will be just posts that will be more like shooting the breeze, general travel chat...

So, are these different things? Articles and posts?

Cheers

Blogs can be the same as articles..
but in your case it sounds like your blog is more about personal experience.
You can write broader articles to promote your blog..like how backpacking is a good idea...etc

Yeah, mostly all articles can be blog posts, but not all blog posts can be articles. Since the blog posts can range way more then 500 words, and in articles you need an authors box. Blog posts are more freely speech and give your thoughts about sorta things.

They can be the same or different - gee, that helps, doesn't it?

At times you will want to craft an article for your blog. At times you might break from a straight article to just talk or rant, maybe to share some good links or such. I like to mix my blogs up with a bit of both. Of course, I submit the articles later to submission sites, the general rambles I ping, but not submit.
