I have a high conversion site but no traffic...Help?

Hi there! First time poster, so bear with me. I have a high converting site (4+%), but dismal traffic. It's an established site, we've been online for over 6 years, but it seems that the usual sources of traffic are just not there anymore. Can anyone offer true help, and I'm not talking about "Well, I can send you 50,000 leads for 10 bucks". I'm talking about real, targeted traffic. We are also looking at trying to hire someone full time to manage all of our marketing and SEO for our site, from blogging to keywords, twitter management etc. Thanks,
David

    Hi David,

Welcome to the forum. You'll learn a lot here.

You leave little info so it's hard to tell what you have. But I recommend:

-Add a blog to your site if you don't have one already.

-Use good keyword research and add plenty of new content to your blog with those keywords.

-Start some link building to your site.

    - Use social media and add some video marketing.

    I hope this helps.

    My best to you.
    Jerry

(For a FIRST STEP) My best advice to you for targeted traffic is to do pay per click marketing. Target your prospects based upon what they are searching and place a relevant ad and capture page.

This is the fastest and easiest way to generate targeted traffic and make money for your business.

If you already know your traffic converts at 4% you should definatly look in to PPC advertising you could have it set up this afternoon and running by tommorow, obviously you will need to test things its not quite that simple but that would definetly be the way I would go.

We've tried adSense in the past, but it seems like we'd spend a lot of $$$ but a lower conversion rate. Organically, we seem to be doing OK, but theory would dictate that if we can increase our overall "qualified" traffic, maintain the same conversion rate, profits would increase... One of the biggest issues is that we lack the skill set and knowledge base from an SEO and marketing standpoint to understand what we need to do to begin...

Ok, what I would recommend you to do to create traffic are:

    a) Make some useful comments on blog related sited with a back link, meaning, you go to a travel industry site, you find some blogs and you write about their content, you add more value to the post and you put a back link to your site.
    b) Classified ads: Start creating some post in classified places like kijiji or craigslists, nevertheless there are tons of other places where you can escalate.
    c) create videos: Create a video or two explaining how to use one of your gears adn at the end create a call to action to goto your site.
    d) Create a lot of articles related to the travel industry and back link to your site in your resource box.

All this optimized with a little bit of research for the keywords you want to rank, hope it helps

If you are looking to learn SEO, you can find a ton of resources here at the WF. But, keep in mind, it's not something you will learn overnight and SEO takes time and patience.

PPC would be good for immediate traffic, you just need to dig out the keywords that will give you a profit. You already know your conversion rate so it should be just math from there.

Either way, it starts with the keywords, so you could try searching this forum for posts on how to do keyword research. There's a ton of them!
