What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Feedburner in Wordpress?

Hello,

I recently signed up my sites RSS to Feedburner and was reading about making my RSS feed off my site redirect through Feedburner. I am a little confused about what that does. How does it work exactly and is it bad for an affiliate marketer with a review site?
Do I understand it correctly that wherever my RSS feeds are submitted to (say feedagg.com) it will redirect to feedburner if a person presses a link in my RSS feed instead of my website?

I am totally confused. Your help is greatly appreciated!

    No, you don't understand it correctly. The links still would go to your site, if they point to it.

    Just an idea: why don't you try to see how they work?
    Do you have gmail account? Login and at the top you will see a menu item Reader. Click - and subscribe to your own feedburner feed. See how it appears in readers...
