Does DLGuard do this?

My up and coming membership site would bring in members from different sources, sources who get a percentage of whatever their members buy, so I have to keep track of each group of members. It would also be nice if the referree could check in to see that its working honestly and could see his group easily.

Is there any way DLGroup (I've just been all over that recent thread, it sounds very good) will allow me to set up mini sites, or mini groups, within an overall umbrella?

or, this might be best ... another way to do it, software permitting, I could start up a main membership site, ie triplex . com, and make a line of self contained sub domains based off that? ie www.pdf.info (triplex.com) where triplex.com would be invisible.

This could be an excellent solution if DLGuard allows me to use it that many times? Does anyone know if there's restrictions on the number on times I could re-apply DLGuard?

    Yes, you sure can - you can set up as many groups as you like, and link them all to the one members area.

    That way you can have multiple groups accessing the same membership pages.


    With the multiple sites, are you saying that you'd want to install DLGuard onto triplex.com, and then have it control a members area on pdf.info?

    This is *sometimes* possible, but it depends on how your hosting provider is set up - can you access the folders of other domains via a file path on your host? If so, then this might work.

    The only problem is if you want to offer secure download links within your members area, you may have an issue. The problem with using multiple domain names is that session cookies (that are used to authenticate logins) are locked to one domain.

    So if someone logs in to pdf.info, the download links will have to point to DLGuard, which is on triplex.com. But the cookie won't cross a domain name.

    Does that make sense?
