My niche blog still not indexed . . . What am I doing wrong?

INTERNET MARKETING

Okay, This blog: Parakeet Paradise - How to Care for, Breed, and Train Your Parakeets is about a week old and has good content, no ads, and Is updated daily w/a new post. I've pinged it several times using a service that pings to over a 100 sites. I've submitted it to google. I have a link in my sig file. I've made a few comments on other blogs using the link.

What else should I do?

I know I should write an article or two and submit it the directories and that's the next step, but I thought it would be indexed by now. What gives?

  Hey man - you should check out WordPress - it has a simple plugin - you just install the plugin and WHABAM you have an XML sitemap generator
  
  add that to the sick Google Analytics plugin right on your dashboard everytime you log in... and you're ready for some serious action!

  people can offer you advice but always keep in mind that google is in full control and nobody knows all their methods and there is no telling why something happens so just sit tight or follow some of the other advice. Im not discouraging you but this is something you have to keep in mind so you wont blame yourself if everything goes wrong.

Have you tried writing a press release with a link back to your site, and submitting it to a press release distribution site? Free Press Release Distribution Service - PR Log.Org is a free press release distribution site - it seems to go live on Google almost immediately.

Add your url and a blurb (not too salesy) here
