i was thinking about doing some joint ventures. but the foundation of my online work is affiliate marketing. I do not own my own product.

So i was wondering as an affiliate how would i go about doing a joint venture.

My guess is if i am trying to jv with other affiliate marketers they will probably be promoting to their list the same products im trying to jv with them to promote to their list for me.

so what is a good way to jv without owning your own product. thanx

You could pair up two people.

    1. Product owner.

    and...

    2. List owner.

and chop 10% of the profits for making the introduction from the product owner.

yeah but thats not really affiliate work. i mean lets say i was an affiliate for products a which is in the aff marketing niche. i want to jv with another guy who also has a list in the aff marketing niche.

ohhhh i just caught myself in mind sentence...

basically its not a good idea because why would somebody in yoursame niche market a product for you that they can become an affilaiate for and market to their own list.

but how is that different from owning your own list. couldn't said person just become an affiliate of your product??

from my experience, working with partners is usually helpful for the workload and the motivation. JV's in this market are more for different areas of expertise coming together to make the picture complete. If you are looking for a partner it seems that you either have a confidence issue or a lack in some aspects of the business. Therefore I suggest that you make a real partnership with someone you know and trust and work together. Always be careful when bringing someone else on board, but it will definitely be more valuable than a typical JV, and more suited to your needs.

Why would you do a JV as an affiliate, what is the catch?

well that is what i am trying to clarify with myself... i cant really wrap my fingers around why it is only for vendors.

can you explain why it wouldnt be wise for an affiliate to jv??

What would you offer your JV partner?

I mean, if you are a vendor you can split the profits but if you are an affiliate, what will you do?

basically im offering them the chance for free promotion....i promote to their list and they can promote to my list.

like lets say i'll blast out an ad, or a link or whatever they want me to send out to my list. we will arrange how many subscribers. so maybe ill send the ad out to the first 20,000 people on my list and they have to do the same. so its free and we are both gaining subscribers and getting sales, and getting our brand (our name) out there.

Yeah dude, you can't really approach an owner of a weight loss list about doing an affiliate promo to his list...

Or any other niche for that matter. Have you done well with affiliate marketing? What skills have you acquired?

The reason I ask is you can easily create a free product - see the one in my signature - based on something you know well. Set up a squeeze page and start building a list (if you aren't already) then approach other members in this forum for doing an adswap. You could also buy an adswap from one of the sellers to build your list quickly...

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that to build a JV partnership, you really have to have something of value to offer your partners - usually it's commission.

Product creation is really not as hard as you might think either. I just switched over from an affiliate focus to a product owner focus. I launched my first product on 8/19 after I recruited 5 JV's. The last two days it's generated $5000 in sales.

I'm working on another project just re-branding and improving on a PLR product. I think this one will do really, really well once it's finished. So that's another way to get a product created quickly without doing a ton of work.

Send me a PM and we can connect - - I'll share with you how to get your own product going in less than 2 weeks if you want...
