article marketing - keyword related question

I have a question about article marketing and keywords

I can't understand what to do. What i am trying to do is to rank higher, I've been reading about article marketing and one thing I do not get.

should I choose some keywords, let's say 4-5 and promote only these with all my articles ?

or should I choose 2-3 different keywords for each article I write?

I just can't figure it out.

    Choose one or two only and try ranking high for those first.

    Once you have done that - then you can progress.

    If you post comments in other people's blogs this also builds good links.

        "until they rank high" - This is not efficient, reason: Too much effort to rank high.

        My suggestion:

        1. Do proper keyword research, read my blog for more information.
        2. Create List of Long tail keywords.
        3. Plug them into wordtracker to find the count.
        4. Pick 5 of the long tail keywords (at least 4 words or more), add the count to see if at least 300.
        5. Search Google with quote on those keywords, see if they have 5000 results or less.
        6. Write an article for 1 or 2 or 3 of the keywords (must be relevant), use the keyword in title, first paragraph, middle paragraph and last paragraph.
        7. Use Ezinearticles or other web 2.0 site to host your article, the key is to get search engine rank you on page 1.

        - Repeat the process for another set of long tail keywords, you might not get much traffic with few article submission, and if you hit a Jackpot, then you will see tons of traffic to your site!

        More advance approach is to build a SEO SILO site, that requires you to have more SEO experience... but it will dominate the niche with much fewer external links!

    JJ summed it all up in the last two words of his last post.

    Write naturally. DO NOT try to trick the search engines. More and more lately it is about integrity in your work and not trying to game the SEs.

    Of course, you do want to make sure to include the keyword once. If it comes up again while naturally writing...fine. If not...so be it.

    Why should you make this article marketing thing so complicated? Just write one article per each keyword and do it for readers(create value) not for search engine rankings. As it doesn`t matter how many read your article if they don`t click on your url. Of course, try to use your keyword in article title as it will do both- help search engines and inform readers that this is what they are searching for, but there is no "best system" for article writing.

    If you want to rank for one keyword - firstly find one in your niche that has limited competition.

    Do this by;

    Using the Google keyword tool.


    No doubt - a lot of single words have lots of competition already - so go for 2 or 3 words together like;

    "pink cats"


    or

    "hairy pink cats".


    Then - check and see how much competition there is on Google by just typing in the words and seeing how many pages there are in the results.

    You want it under 300K.

    This is Approx - just don't go for the keywords with millions of results.

    Then - once you have found it - use it over and over to create backlinks to your homepage with it.

    Use anchor text to do this.

    One easy way is to find blogs in your niche and provide your comments to hundreds of them using the same keywords as anchor text.

    It isn't that hard - but takes a lot of time.

    If you check the keywords for

    "hairy pink cats"

    there is about 300K pages.

    So you would then go to all the blogs about "hairy pink cats" and type in your comments like;

    "Yes - I love "hairy pink cats". They are great because they are hairy."


    The "hairy pink cats" text would be your anchor text.
