Video Promotion Techniques

I'm confused about how video is used in promoting web pages. Do you use it for backlinks, and if so how does that work since it's a visual medium?

Do you use it for traffic mainly towards a money page?

If I put up the same video on different sites, does that count as duplicate content?

Thanks guys and girls...

That's because many roads lead to the same destination.
Pick the route you like and go that way.

This would be a good time to check through ezine articles on "How to use Video" you can read the articles for free and then make a determination about how and when to use video. Cheapest way to go. I am sure there are some experts on this forum but they haven't responded yet. But check some of the posts to see if someone can answer your question. Good Luck.

    Hi Oneder,
There are many ways of skinning a cat, goes the saying. The same applies to videos. It all boils down to the intention as you have indicated in your various questions. Quality of the video is very important and how it portrays the intended message effectively to the targeted audience.

If you want to generate backlinks, the key is to give your video a descriptive title and good description on what the video is about and good relevant keywords as tags. This gives the search engines an idea of what the video is about. But uploading it to Youtube will get you a no follow backlink though the video resides on a powerful domain. The video also stands a good chance of ranking on the search results pages thus bringing new traffic to your site.

If the intention is to create a video that resides on a squeeze page to collect an email address to build a list or encourage visitors to take action on a CPA offer, then the purpose is served.

If you upload a video to multiple video sites, it may be a good idea to have slight variations in titles and descriptions. There is no problem with duplicate content as such because the more visibility your site has through videos, the more traffic it is going to pull in.

the best way to use video to promote your products is by focusing on the content of the video itself. Try to be different, catching, stand up. You can just upload your video on YouTube and still generate thousands of buzzwords around internet or you can upload your video on all YouTube related websites but still only generate mediocre traffic.

You can see how a simple video made by this girl generated 4,116,028 views and 6,476 comments

When you look at some video content that has millions of views sometimes you can ask how on earth they got that many. Fact is you can do a video and even a bad one might get you good traffic. In fact a bad one will sometimes get you more traffi than a good one. Not necessarily the type of traffic you want though.

I think it is worth experimenting a bit. Maybe make a couple of videos in different styles.

    Hey oneder,

    My Answers are; yes,yes,no.

Focus on keywords, provide relevant content, put link in description box, and try to rank on video services and search engines.

Search engines particularly like videos. And if there are none for your keywords already, there is a good chance the search engines will rank the video.

    Hope this helps.

    My best to you,
    Jerry

    btw, I like your name.
