I will like to know your professional view(s) and help to make informed decision about what model of internet marketing or online business work best these days. As you know, there are lots of business model one can venture into but not all seems to pay off.

I will be happy if you can share your success and failure in regards to models you can tried in the past and which seems to work best

The post is all about sharing your view. None of the business model is said to be super best.

So far the most successful business model I have seen is selling anything to IMers themselves, my proof can only be exhibited by those who have me on thier lists and I am on the other end of the business model.

But the reason I replied via Istvan's thread is I am curious about others opinions on picking a model based on your strengths. I think this in in line with his reply as we each may have a different best based on our strengths.

Despite a preference for affiliate marketing ...

I'd say that product creation with upsells and a membership on the backend are the most successful ... and the systems you'll see most frequently used by some very big names (in numerous niches).

Ben is dead on. Although there's a few big fish in that market, the smaller fish IF they have something relevant and useful to share can still make money. That is one of my income channels and it works wonderfully

I don't think there is a 'best'. I think following tried and true business systems is what works best.

That means having a business plan, researching your market right, having enough money to run the business right or having a low cost marketing strategy.

And of course staying away of schemes that make crazy promises of instant riches.

I am still very active selling online but I have also become an consultant to small to large corporations to teach them Social Media and Internet Marketing including Search (Google, MSN, Facebook PPC)
This in my opinion is the best field to be in. It's better than a niche, its not going away, its only going to get better.

    Hi:

    Shireen here :-)

For me, eBay is the best so far. I use it as the core of my online business.

I direct most of my eBay visitors or buyers to my websites on clickbank and my blog.

I also build most of my list from eBay, read this thread to find out how...

Well, whichever 'model' you choose to go with, one thing is certain (at least in MY mind) ... online video needs to be a very large part of it.

Think about it, YouTube is very popular for a reason. People these days are conditioned to pay attention to flashing images they see every day on television and can't be bothered to actually read - gasp! - books. It all has to be force-fed or it makes no impact.

If you want to get people to your blog, website, or sales pages, you need to use video to lure them there!

      Best,

      Brad here.

The model for me is still in development. I am investing a good deal of time learning from the internet and key trainers.

I too have been working with Chris Farrell's Membership. His program is still number 1 with IMReportCard.com as of today. I am also using Yaro Starak's blog mastermind program.

One thing that gave both these programs great creditability in my mind was their unanimous statement "over deliver - quality" I have watched both programs very closely - they have delivered on their mantra.

I can not open Chris Farrell's site without learning something new. The key for that membership is keeping it fresh.

Yaro Starak has a similar approach and provides traffic alternatives to Chris's approach of social media.

Bottom line for me is learn the basics first - when the student is ready the teacher will appear.

Best of luck - I hope to hear from you soon.

If you have time click over to my blog at rmsinternetmarketing.com/blog and check it out. I would be interested in your opinion.

Many of the models you have listed compliment each other. It is my belief that email marketing should be the foundation you build the other models on. The easiest model is the affiliate marketing model because you don't have to create a product, do support, collect the payments and so on.

But email marketing should be the foundation on which you build your affiliate model. Even those that do product creation and the sales funnel that goes with that model also do affiliate marketing.

Most business models except email marketing and memberships have you constantly chasing new customers. With email marketing and the membership model you aren't constantly chasing new customers.

To me you have to work harder when worrying where your next sale is going to come from.

I hope this has been helpful.

Anything with Emails will do you good. List=good.

Now, I'm no professional, BUT any business model you choose has equal opportunity. It's about being the best at the one you choose. If you hate writing with a passion, for god sakes don't go to article marketing. Use your strengths. Whichever thing interests you the most for reasons other than being "easy","fast", or "safe" as referred to by many, is the one you need to go for. Stick to it. Learn it. Live it. Love what you get from it.

I've been running my own service business for 9 years now, been into online marketing (for my own business) the whole time and certain beliefs in the IM community never cease to amaze me. I think we must really differentiate an online business from an online job. For me, promoting other people's stuff is an "online job" not an online business.

Having a business means having "assets". If you believe you're running a business, you must ask yourself: "what are my assets?" If the only assets you have are your website/SERPs you use to promote other people's products/services, you are skating on very thin ice imho.

I agree with Yakim, many of those models can run under the same business. My suggestion is:
    1) Choose a niche market
    2) Try affiliate marketing in that niche to verify that it is a good niche market and you enjoy creating value for that niche market.
    3) Create your own info product/s
    4) Create your back-end products (marketing funnel)
    5) Grow your business model by adding blogging/affiliate marketing/social media/professional services/etc. to your business model

    Hope this helps.

Be sure that the best online business is what you like to do and where you can succeed. You can find people who really succeed in SEO, but fail in PPC as well as those who make a lot of money by duing PPC but fail in SEO. Focus on something that you like and understand.

There's really no right or wrong answer here. There are many ways to skin a cat, and in reality what truly matters is the type of business model that fits in with your preferences and skills.

There is no cookie cutter, "one size fits all" type of solution here. Analyze your strengths and weaknesses, and also take your likes and dislikes into account, and then choose a business model that is congruent with all these. By doing this, you are assuring yourself the highest possible chance of succeeding with whatever business model you choose.
