Well if you want an honest critique the first thing to do is change the blue background as it is too "in your face". You don't want people to focus on that as opposed to the content otherwise the message gets lost in that sea of blue.

Spell check everything - you can even use a word processor to do this (neighbour is spelt wrong).

The main headline needs to be paraphrased or changed - it doesn't make me want to buy.

I would make the main content wider.

Continue to split test your content to see what converts.
    • Reasons why puppy - dog bites.
That doesn't really make sense. It should read something like "reasons why your puppy bites" or "Reasons why your dog is biting you".

Your opt in form is desolate and rather lonely there at the bottom, get a sexier form.

    Maybe some pics.

A lot of work to do mate but easily do-able!

Steve's on the money. Too many spelling mistakes, background should be white to make your content stick out. Arrange content landscape from top with best real estate used for a really catchy title like:

Make background paler, with a gradient. Justify all text to the left and change that yellow highlight!

    Joe,

Looks good but you need to check your grammar. There are a few mistakes that you need to check.

Second, instead of having a blue background color, change it to WHITE.

Ditto on getting rid of the blue. I even saw Steve's post before I visited your site, so I was expecting the blue, and it still shocked me!

Yes, you have some spelling and grammar issues. I would also add some informative content to it. It doesn't have to be a ton, but the whole page just feels like a giant sales pitch (especially with the yellow highlights in there). If I'm really looking for info on dog bites, I'd probably be more inclined to find a website that offers me some substance in the beginning - even if it's just a paragraph. You could certainly do some research and get some facts, and say something like, "Does your dog have a problem with biting? Well, you're not alone. In fact, 50% of dog owners say their dogs bite too much...."

  • I've just been to your website - are you in the middle of changing it because now its just a blank white page with black writing on?

Looking at it from a buyers point of view - not a web designer I would say that:-
    • The heading needs re-aligning
    • The Grammar needs checking as none of your bullet points really make sense.i.e you have used plurals instead of singulars.
    • One of your bullet points says " prepare your dog for your new baby" Are you feeding the dog TO the baby ?
    • Also your link at the bottom doesn't work but maybe you haven't installed the link yet.

A customer is looking for a solution to their problem but they won't trust you to have the answer to that problem if your website looks like its been thrown together. There is so much completion out there that you have to come across as a bit of an expert.

I think you have chosen an excellent niche. You only have to watch the news to see that dog biting is a problem - so it would be a shame for you not to make a success of this.

The problem is here is that many of us have excellent knowledge to pass and sell on but we are not web page designers (me included).

The most helpful advise I can give you, and this is what I do myself, is to use pre made webpages. That way you'll have an attractive professional looking page that someone else has designed & all you have to worry about is putting in the content. This can be done with a free software ( I use Kompozer).

You can get these free or for a small price if you want something of better quality. You should be able to get a pre made page with images relating to dogs if you Google it.

Also, Try looking on YouTube for some videos about designing web pages or how to change pre made pages using Kompozer. There is an abundance of good ( and some bad) free info on here.

Hope this has been of some help.

    Good luck
