I have a $#@!**&@#@ Problem!!!

hey warriors..this things been pissing me off for a while now..

i can write pretty decent articles, and they usually rank on the first page of google for one day for the particular long tail keyword.

but, after this day passes, the article usually completely disappears from all google listings.

i know one of the main ways to get it back up there is by building backlinks to the article. and believe me i've tried em. but i guess most the info i've been reading isn't as specific as it could have been.

for example, i've read a thread here that you can create a bunch of blogs with a link back to your article. but i don't know how many blogs i should create.

i guess i'm basically hoping that someone here can like provide me with a very specific guideline to follow when it comes to building backlinks. and if you could i'd seriously appreciate it too! because i'm sick and tired of watching my articles disappear into oblivion after a day.

i'm looking forward to your responses!

Cheers

Prashant

PS: i know that i should only be targeting keywords that generate 10 000 web pages or less when the phrase is searched with quotes, and ive been doing just that.

forget about the blog farms. they are a complete waste of time....links from fresh blogs are not very valuable.

    Rankings articles are pretty easy.
First off, the best possible ranking procedure you can follow for articles is to INTERLINK them. That's right, you need to use some of your articles and link back to the ones that really matter to you.

Secondly, you need to bookmark your article (but aggressively).
I use socialposter.com and I bookmark my article on every site. Bookmarkingdemon is offcourse the diamond that can do this automatically.

The best way to rank your articles is to build authority hubs for yourself.
You can do this by creating about 3 squidoo lenses that have quality content on it. You can interlink your lenses as well as get links from other lenses. You should also fully bookmark all your lenses on several accounts. Then you can use your lenses to pass on power to your articles, since articles from EzineArticles rank better than squidoo lenses at this moment.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers,
    Reinhardt

    blogger.com
    squidoo.com
    googlepages.com
    hubpages.com

That is a good start and creating blogs there will help a lot.
Put links on each one created to all the others.

Glenn, isn't Google Pages ancient history? Their backlink weight are so devalued at this point that it's not even worth it.

Hubpages are also not worth it because outgoing links are tagged "nofollow".

Only blogger and squidoo have dofollow links.

Well, you are probably somewhat right. However, he was just asking how to keep articles for his terms on page one of google etc.

If I were to want a term today, I would follow what I did last time also and that included the list I made above and couple more.

I am just stating what has worked for me in the past.

If you look at "paid article marketing" without the quotes in google, I have positions 1,2,3,4 and 8 on the first page.

That was over a year ago and they stay at the top give or take a listing or two.

I only did that on that day and have never been back to any of them.

I would also say to not post the same article on all sites. You can use the same article on some sites, but write or have written a couple more and use them on various sites.

I don't do any SEO with my ezinearticles and I've gotten on the first page of shorter keywords than initially intended and used to be nr.1 for 3 of these until google had that update, but I'm still on the first page and I didn't link or do anything to it.
