Has Anyone Used Article Site Builder?

Can anyone familiar with this software help by translating the message below to simple English for me, please.

Unzip the file you downloaded that contains Article Site Builder - No problem

- Create a new SQL database and upload the database.sql script into your MySQL server to create the necessary tables
Step by step translation, please

- Modify the config.php by opening it in Notepad or any .php editor

Change the following variables:

$USER_VAR['SQL_HOST']="localhost";
$USER_VAR['SQL_USER']="YourDBUser";
$USER_VAR['SQL_PASS']="YourDBPass";
$USER_VAR['SQL_DB']="YourDB";

I copied the config.php into notepad and it looks exactly the same as above. Do I still need the notepad saved in the ASB folder?

- Upload the entire asb folder to your web server in the same sturcture it is currently in.

Your help will be much appreciated

    First things first, are you using cPanel? Or, are you using one of the proprietary control panels such as the ones with: Powweb, NetFirms, IPower, Nexx, etc.?

        Then the process will be real simple, but I have one more question...

        Are you trying to install: easyarticlesitebuilder.com or Index of /

        If so, don't waste your time!

          No, this is a different product. I guess by your comment it is worthless. I know the feeling. This one has good reviews.

            There were actually 2 different "Article Site Builder" links in my response, just in case you missed the both of them. The reason I asked is because MOST of these types of article scripts are EASY targets for hackers trying to make names for themselves.

            Just so you know, most of these scripts leave easily identifiable IM footprints and are simple to find and even easier to hack. Juvenile hackers love them just as much as they love ArticleDashboard.

            I know of a number of scripts with the name, "Article Site Builder" that are fair game for hackers. If you want to PM me wit the script you are using, I'll tell you if it's on the hacker list, or if it's a script with known technical issues.

            [To answer your question about the install]

            (a). Here's how to set up your MySQL Database: MySQL Wizard

            (b). As you go through the MySQL Wizard, you will create your DB Username, DB Password and Your DB

            $USER_VAR['SQL_HOST']="localhost";
            $USER_VAR['SQL_USER']="YourDBUser";
            $USER_VAR['SQL_PASS']="YourDBPass";
            $USER_VAR['SQL_DB']="YourDB";

            Just copy and then paste that info into the proper file and save.

            (c) Once you've completed those two steps, just to save time, contact your host support and have them to upload the file provided by the script.
