Freelancing is where you outsource your task usually data entry, article writing or other work that you yourself don't find efficient for your time but still usually required to run your business.

There are various way to freelance and hire a freelancer. My favourite way is through forums because you can find if they have an established creditibilty and it's usually cheaper. However there are also great sites out there that connect freelancers with people looking to hire a freelancer.

Just search google for them and I'm sure you'll find many. There are also many WSOs that tell you more in detail how to property freelance. Watch out because there are many scammers out there who are out to take your money and run. You need to know how to differentiated. generally I wouldn't pay in full if possible.

I think he means the actual site called Freelancer. First, I'd say use oDesk instead. Out of all of those type of sites oDesk is the best. Search for things like "articles" or "backlinks" depending on what you want done. You can click Tests and they have an SEO test and many others where you can see the top scorers; hence those people know their stuff in that particular field - it's their specialty. Compare their rates and be sure to get someone who's already logged at least 100 hours or so and has reviews/feedback from other employers.

    Hi smolodoy,

First, you need to post your job thread (project description) on different forums/freelance sites. With freelance sites, there are some freelancers (those who are working from home, they bid their rate/price on the particular job that you have posted. Mode of payment depends on the selected provider that you have chosen.

I suggest to hire a company instead of a freelancer, the rate is a bit higher but you won't question the quality. Since outsourcing companies have their supervisors who manage their staff.

Hi smolodoy, this is Nicole Miller from vWorker.com (formerly known as Rentacoder.com).

Freelancer.com and other similar sites, including vWorker, can be best thought of as job auction sites whereas someone who needs something done (such as yourself) makes a job available on the site and individuals who believe they're qualified to do that job bid on it.

At vWorker, people who make jobs available are called 'employers' whereas on other sites, they may be called buyers or clients. Folks who ask for the job are called 'workers' or coders or freelancers, etc.

If you were to use vWorker, you would select one of the people who bid on your job opportunity and then release payment via escrow after you're fully satisfied with the job's completion.

Note that although these services are similar, they're not identical. Some services don't offer escrowing or arbitration for example. Others may offer these items, but at varying degrees, which is why I encourage you to compare Freelancer to some of the well known outsourcing/freelance services here: Compare 1632708 to vWorker.com and other sites in the industry (for employers)
