Any ideas on marketing THIS service?
I have had over 10 years in the cellular industry, selling for Sprint, Verizon, SouthernLinc, and, a little bit of time selling for some of the prepaid options, as well as Cingular/AT&T.
That being said, I am about to be unemployed, and, was thinking about an idea for a service that hit me about 4 months ago when dealing with a formerly large commercial customer.
I thought about offering a personalized service of using my knowledge and experience in the cellular industry to save customer's money, by examining rate plans, usage history, and, seeing if there are better options. It's been my experience that a majority of cellular providers over pay their cell phone companies each month, either by having the wrong plan, the wrong service, or, not being well educated on the options available.
I had initially thought of billing myself as a "consultant" for major companies, but, that being said, I just helped an elderly company that was being overcharged by Verizon for over $100 per month. The recommendations that I just made for them, which added another line of service for their Verizon account, took care of a specific need, and, made them very happy, will keep $1200 a year more in their pocket.
Would such a service do well online? What would such a service be worth? How could it be marketed?
