Crap ezinearticles get high PR!

Hello fellow internet travelers,

I am having a bit of a trouble understanding how there are ezinearticles that are pretty crappy, with under 200 views have page ranks of 4.

Then we have mine, thousands more views, ranks better, is an older article... and a simply awesome article...with a PR of 0!

What's going on here? I am frustrated, irate, and about to go get some lunch.

Any insight on this is appreciated, thanks!

Are you seeing this in Market Samurai?

How many backlinks do you have to your article? And, what are the quality of them?

You have to promote those articles just as if you were promoting your own site... bookmarking, backlinks etc. I have over 4,000 articles on ezine and the ones I promoted are higher PR and the ones that I foolishly did not do very little for me.

It must be the amount of links the author has built to the article, could be something else but that what Google says that page rank = links

"Crap Writing" does not necessarily = "Crap SEO"
conversely "Good Writing" does not necessarily = "Good SEO"

You said that your article gets thousands of views while the crappy one gets only under 200 views. So why do you care about the PR? For SEO? But I think that the aim of SEO is to get traffic, right? You've already got that.

Do you build links to your articles at ezinearticles from a variety of pages, some of which that have actual link popularity to share?

    Nuff said...

But it sure would be nice to have a quality PR4 backlink to your money site from that article - with the right anchor text.

but then ... backlinks dont matter much anyhow.

What's going on is content quality and views have nothing to do with page rank.

When will people learn that PR is next to meaningless. Sure it has transaction value meaning you can sell links from a high PR page to people that think it matters for more $$$, but relevancy is where it is at...

It really doesn't take much for an Ezinearticle to get PR2 or above. Only needs to be published a few times.

    Lots of general answers given.

If you cite some actual articles then perhaps more precise responses could be given.
