Not sure what webinar is as pertains to a new marketing angle

A webinar is kinda like a conference call except that it is audio and video, usually screen capture video. You can call in on the phone but usually it is all done over the computer, you hear the audio through your computer speakers and see the live screen capture video on your computer screen. So normally this is how it goes:

The person hosting the webinar sets it up in GoToWebinar(the service I use for webinars) then they send a message out to their list, social contacts, etc to get them to click the join link and signup for it. Then when the day and time comes you click on the link in the email sent by GoToWebinar to join the webinar. What happens is you connect to the webinar and participate through your computer, you will hear the hosts voice and see their screen. If they unmute you, you can also speak through your computers microphone and everyone on the call can hear you. If the host passes the screen to you, you can show your screen to everyone on the call.

There are options to call in on the phone but most people don't unless they are having connection problems.

Well I guess that leaves me out. It takes me a half a dozen times going over a Video before I can understand what the speaker is saying. I can lip read pretty good and if a person is making a presentation on video I can understand that.

Example Sarah Staar's video's I can understand as she talks dirctly to you. Even though she has a British accent she is one of the very few I can understand.

Yeah it may be kinda difficult for you to understand what's going on without lips to read, unless you could use an amplified headset or something so you could hear it. It would really help if there were a closed caption option but as far as I know there isn't one in GoToWebinar. I do know of a lot of people that use powerpoint slides in their presentations and they pretty much read straight from them so in that case you may be able to figure out the general gist of things..
