Small Scale Cloud Hosting

Hello,

My traffic is erratic. Every time it spikes right now, the server crashes. I'm hoping cloud hosting might be the solution.

I'm looking for a cloud hosting solution for under $50 per month. Something that could replace a VPN account.

Most the solutions I've found are in the $200 or more range.

Anyone found any good solutions?

Anyone with experience with this technology?

Is it reliable technology yet?

    I'll assume you mean to replace a VPS account, not VPN.

    You could go with Amazon, a small instance is now running close to $100/month.

    Or, you could just use multiple VPS servers with a load-balancer. That's not too difficult to set up and can make sure that you can spread the load across servers. Two, maybe even 3 VPS servers (depending on your provider) can still be cheaper than one Amazon instance.

    You could get 2 VPS servers for under 50$. Other than that I cant think of any think cheaper. If you are getting the kind of traffic that makes your servers crash, I suggest you start investing in something better like a dedicated server.
