Selling works well for me at the moment!

Come on dude, what sort of question is this lol

I'm sure you know there are many ways to make money online.

You just have to master one, and focus on it relentlessly.

What do you sell and where? I'm also going in that direction. Just curious what everyone else is doing.

Just find something you are very passionate about, create some quality content and the money will follow.

I suggest you check out flippa.com and see what sites make a large profit. This will give you an idea of what works.

        Cheers

I feel you on the focusing part. Most of us after a while get info overload and marketing ADD...the only way out is to get rid of the distractions and focus on one method and do it consistently until you reach your goal! Then can we learn a new method, if necessary.

I sell what I find interesting... you should do the same.

Trying to run an IM business and not being interested in your product/service will never fly.

Honestly, I see what's selling and build a better mouse trap. Don't worry about competition...just do it better then the other guy (or gal)

~Go over to clickbank and see what it selling.
    ~Pick a product
~Go over to your favorite keyword tool and do a little research. (hint take some phrases out of the sales copy and search on that)
~Get SEOquake toolbar (for chrome and firefox) - it will tell you how your competition ranks (backlinks, page rank etc)
    ~Put up a wordpress blog
    ~Add content
    ~Article Marketing
    ~Social Bookmarking
~Tip: public domain content is your friend

that's it in a nutshell...now volumes can be written on each line item...but do a search around the forums here and it should fill in the blanks

Honestly, I've been doing awesome with 2 different models lately. The first is PLR + List Building. Here's how I do that:

Method #1- PLR + List Building
      1. I do some niche research using Clickbank, Amazon, etc to see what's selling, preferably something I'm interested in, and find a niche to go into.

      2. I go to the communities online that people in that niche go to. I see what they're talking about, learn the lingo, and find out some problems I could target.

      3. I find Private Label Rights content on that topic, preferably an ebook since you can do a ton with it, from sites like thePLRstore.com, tradebit.com, and others.

      4. I buy an ebook (usually for around $6-$10), take a couple chapters out of it (if you can find the chapters covering the 'problem' you found in step 2 then use those!), then set up a squeeze page giving away those 2 chapters. I usually structure this promotion as giving away the exclusive "Leaked Chapters".

      5. That's your front end. The back end would be selling them the rest of the ebook. The cool thing is that you can find "PLR Niche Website Packs" that come with a sales letter, squeeze page, ebook, and sometimes more, like audio files and articles and the like. That's sweet because it's an entire business waiting for you to slap your name on it.

      6. Kick butt, don't be lazy, and actually spend hours upon hours driving traffic to your site until your profits are enough to pay someone else to do it for you. Then systematize the traffic methods, outsource them, and move on to the next niche.

(This is ideal, but seldom realized. I have a couple self-sustaining websites going as we speak, making a solid chunk of change every month, but it's by no means a cake walk. You have to want it.)

      Method #2- PPC
...The other method I use is using Yahoo Search Marketing (Yahoo's Adwords) to send PPC traffic to affiliate offers or content-laden review sites.

      1. Set up a review site, or just directly link, to affiliate offers. In this case, I find some smaller niche-oriented product, like chicken coups or the like.

      2. Send traffic to that product/site and see if I can make sales with it.

      3. If I can't, I ditch it. If I CAN, then (very Frank Kern-style) I create a better product in that niche and swap it out with the affiliate offer. Usually, this entails finding a PLR-related product or two, and then:
-compiling them to make a bigger, more impressive product, throwing in something else (audio version of the ebook, etc)...
-or I simply find someone in that niche using eLance.com or Guru.com I can interview and transcribe that interview to make my own product.
-(3rd option: Take the PLR product, find an expert using the options above, and pay them to add what they think the PLR ebook is missing, then interview them on top of that, compiling it all in product form.)

      Conclusion:

There's really not much to it but action and hard work.

...And I guess trying things, failing, testing, tweaking, designing sites, writing copy, failing some more, figuring out what works, drinking coffee to pull all nighters driving traffic, and in the end actually seeing what really works from all your endeavors, instead of reading about it in a forum. Then take what works and pay someone to do only that for you to scale it up.

      Hope that helps,
      -Tom

And stay focused - staying focused on one project is what is important if you want it to be successful. Just keep on working away and don't get sidetracked looking for something else that will work better.

That's never going to happen... there will always be competition and quite frankly, I like to see that there is competition as that lends credibility to what I do for a living.
