Global or Local Monthly searches for Amazon Products

Hi All,

I just started trying to promote Amazon Affiliate products, I need some advice when you are doing keyword research you will usually go for a product with a high Global or Local Month Search Volume?

The reason I ask is because while doing keyword research recently I found some keywords with very high Global Monthly Searches but almost no or not much Local Monthly Search Volume.

I am using the Google External Keyword too .

Thanks in advance

I usually go for global search volumes, and rarely go with local ones. Global search volume gives me enough traffic to make some good money from the products that i target.

I have a different opinion, especially if you are trying to sell products form Amazon. Global searches include traffic form all countries, so if your site sells from amazon in the US, that traffic won't buy form your site.

    Just something to think about.

This is the best investment I have seen in ages - For just $1.00 you can get 4 coaching sessions - And the coaching is from internet marketing legend Chris Record.

Exactly what I was going to say. For Amazon, who has different associate programs for different countries, you want to use search numbers from the country you will be selling. In my case, that means setting the country for USA and looking at local searches.

If you're an affiliate of Amazon.com (US), look at local searches with country as US

If you are getting high global search figures and low local search figures(if you're using US as the country for local searches) it means that the traffic is coming from countries other than the US. You need to find out which countries the traffic is coming from. Use the local search feature for countries where Amazon is present like the UK, Germany and others. If you find a high volume in countries where Amazon is present it will be worth it if you go with global search volume. However, you may need to use an Amazon localizer plugin so that your affiliate links redirect to the country from where the visitor is.
