PICKING DOMAIN NAME TO DOMINATE MY NICHE

Hi,
I am stuck trying to pick a url for a competitive niche with very established domains.

I have written a book to help parents with addicted/alcoholic teens (or college kids). I have bought several url's - but there is too much competition for them to rank high in google The ones I own are:

teenagealcoholism.org- 90,000 global searches (broad match) , 720 exact match on google free keyword tool , and 212,000 results on google.

teensubstanceabuse.org I do not think this gets enough traffic- but it does cover both alcohol and drugs which my book does.

teenagersdrinking.com - small number for exact match and competitive in terms of google results

teenagersdrugabuse.org (33,000 broad search, hardly any searches though for exact match. People put in the singular form in the search box- teenage drug abuse)

I am happy to buy a new url, but have had trouble finding one I can dominate. Any suggestions? (Please don't say- find a new niche because my book can help a lot of families and I feel strongly about helping people with this problem. I didn't even know what SEO stood for when I wrote it).

Thanks

Druggie.org (which I own ). And you can have it for a reasonable offer.

Sorry- can't use that. Druggie isn't a respectable term for the folks I am trying to help.

      Any other suggestions?

Go to the google keyword tool and type in all your keywords...then see what the exact searches for those keywords are. choose the one that is the highest but also has low competing webpages. that's exactly what i do.

You're still shy of the big picture...

The website name is only a small part of SEO.

Google did't fret over whether "WorldsBestSearchEngine dot com" was what they needed, and Amazon didn't sweat about not using "BestOnlineBookStore dot com", nor did Facebook worry that "ConnectWithYourFriends dot com" was what they needed to succeed.

Don't let having a keyword stuffed domain name stop your progress. In reality ALL those names could be good ones, or they could prove to be too long a domain name for people to type in.

Ideally you want a short domain name that is easy to remember that you can brand.

Just ask the folks at Twitter...

Bill beat me to the punch on this on, and he's dead-on...

Having "the best" keyword rich domain name will help you rank in the SERPS for people searching on those exact words... but what about all those who will search similar keyword phrases which are not an exact match?

You want to reach all of them... but it is not cost effective (or reasonably practical) to buy up every possible high-traffic keyword phrase as a URL for your product.

So do the best you can with getting one for your product, but not to the exclusion of:
      - having a memorable URL
      - using other SEO techniques (on page and off page)
      - using other marketing and traffic-generating techniques

      Good luck

Thanks everyone- I am still working on it- there isn't an obvious one out there unless someone has any other suggestions. I may just leap in- pick one and go for it.
