WOW, Clickbank Sucks!

I just tried to order a product through ClickBank.

I entered my credit card info and it failed. I rechecked my info and submitted again and failed again.

I finally, decided to pay with Paypal and it was approved.

Pretty disturbing to think how many people try to order with their CC and when it errors out they just leave without going to Paypal.

I would think that a lot of people who don't have Paypal are not going to bother to sign up for it and will just leave.

Come on ClickBank get your act together.

    Hi,

I think You Should raise that concern to clickback for immidiate actions. It really does affect affiliate marketing with this. Cause about 70%(rough estimate) of the Customers that is searching for the information don't care about paypal.

And can you cite your sources on this one????

As of 10:56 PM (9/3) paypal's homepage says there are 224,815,059 accounts on paypal so you can't just say 70% of the people don't care about paypal. I think the reason people lose sales is because clickbank doesn't make it easy for buyers to pay with paypal (they only have a small button that can be easily overlooked) and not because people don't care about paypal.

      Hope it helps

I have had the same problems before and I had to re-entered my credit card information three times and finally was able to get the transaction to go through. After I received my product, I contacted their customer service division and told them the problem that I encountered. I still really like Clickbank because they provide 24 hour service and they provide a guarantee which requires everyone to remain honest.

If you ever see an error with clickbank, make sure you report it.

I had to report something with my affiliate and they responded very quickly.

Yeah that is a problem I've been noticing in my clickbank stats. For example, I am promoting an affiliate product and today it has an order form submit count of 22, and only had 6 sales!

That is a LOT of money I'm losing there!!!

Maybe 6 people had to submit multiple times each before the sale went through???

My experience with CB is a problem reported is met with an answer of "there is no problem - everything is working as it should"....then a few weeks (or months) later you see an announcement by CB that the problem has now been fixed.

That would be the problem that didn't exist? Okay, got it.

This happen to my affiliate account too. I guess ClickBank just want to be extra cautious when come to credit card payment. But I do think that most people have Paypal account nowadays, especially for internet marketers.

I usually use paypal through clickbank anyway when I buy stuff.... but I have used credit card before and it's always worked fine.

I also notice a ~30% order form success rate through clickbank. I'm not sure whether that has to do with credit cards not being accepted or simply people changing their mind when they get to the checkout page.

I haven't used nanacast yet but I noticed a big increase in sales using clickbank as compared to paydotcom... which uses paypal.

Thats probably whats going on with my clickbank account cause my sales have completely stopped from click bank for the past 2 months now. Although you should bring it up to clickbanks attention because it is hurting many affiliates. Not to mention the sellers. If they don't know about it they can not fix it.

Also for as big as pay pal is I do not think people do not have a pay pal account. You might get 1 out of every thousand people who do not have a pay pal account. Also most use pay pal over credit cards any how because it is ten times safer then putting in your credit card info on a hackable server.

Any how as I don't get mad at click bank if you are not going to report the issue to them. For if they do not know about it they can not fix it. I wish you the best of luck with all your marketing tactics.

Strange... This could kill a whole lot of sales. Not very impressed.

I think it would be best to leave multiple payment options out until it's resolved. Slim chance though.

And the kicker is you need five purchases with five different credit cards to qualify for payment. This is something that could happen with any affiliate program site malfunctions and other technical issues like this could be costing you hundreds-thousands of dollars. You may also develop confidence issues feeling like you’re a lousy sales person/affiliate and aren’t cut out for this when in reality you may be but the technical errors coming from the program may be costing you.

I can never buy anything with either of my two credit cards and I end up using PayPal. I can buy what I want but it makes it a little more complicated to claim the products I buy as a business expense.

I currently have a problem with my best selling product as an affiliate.

According to the Clickbank stats pages the Order Form Sale Conversion in August was 28% down on July and 56% down on June.

I am wondering if this is related to credit card failures.

80% of my sales are made through credit cards. Only 20% through Paypal so I don't believe that "most" people can and want to use Paypal.

I used to work for a large Mutual Fund company working with the brokers. The general gist was that "nothing ever went wrong at F*******" and any problems were usually web updates or similar excuses ... but never problems or errors.

To be honest it was a good logic because when every company is the 'same' and you openly admit to a 'problem' then it can mean customers lose confidence.

    Alright.

Having been making consistent ClickBank sales for quite some time, this problem now happens to me.

    How did I find out?

When I had tried to buy something from ClickBank myself!

And I couldn't get my debit card (which has enough funds and authenticated and all) AND PayPal (which I use almost everyday) to work at the payment form page!!!

I don't want to complain too much here...

But please, if you are a ClickBank rep, please do something about this.

    We're all losing sales here.

Worst of all, when I finally want to buy a ClickBank product for a video walkthrough (payment tutorial), I can't buy that product!!!

    Argh!

    Calfred

PS: I just hope it's not some economic or business hole thingy that's inadvertently causing this problem. If that's so, that'll suck because often times, nobody does anything about things like this.

Hi all. I'd like to chime in here because I have been experiencing the same exact problems!!! My order form conversions are WAY WAY down and this is across several niches, some of which I promote more than one affiliate program. I have contacted CB but they don't seem to ever admit there is a problem - either they don't answer at all or they same everything is working as it should be or they simply side step the question entirely and answer a question I didn't ask at all. Talk about losing confidence - this makes me lose more confidence than if they just admitted the problem!

Only people to blame for this are the people that make crap products that make a ton of refunds happen and those buyers who buy from themselves and then refund. Im sure if you where a credit card company and had 40% of your transactions for client "clickbank" being refunding you would would be hesitant to allow people to use their card for that service to.

I've had very few refunds and I've had long periods of time when this did not happen. I have to respectfully disagree that it is the vendor's fault. I sincerely believe there is something intermittently wrong with the CB system.

Has anybody got a response from Clickbank on this yet? We NEED somebody to cut/paste Clickbank's response to this. When you ask them, make sure to cite that multiple CB products are all reporting that valid CC information is being rejected. I am hearing this from my customers as well. I have yet to get a response from CB.

So please paste your CB response in this thread, we are all missing out on a LOT of $$ because CB is blocking credit cards for no valid reason.

I tried two different cards today to try and buy something and all came up as error messages. Not a good sign cos it's just confirmation that you're probably missing sales from perfectly well funded cards and legit buyers. It's a long way off being a perfect system.

    Here's an update

1 day later, I finally got it to work.

I could then purchase the same ClickBank product successfully.

    Previously, it was not working.

I'm sure you guys can boots sales on your sites saying

"If you can't purchase the product, please try again in 1 more day."

It seems that ClickBank doesn't allow you to buy during specific times of the day or something.

A simple solution is to have a link under your "buy now" button/link saying:

If clickbank is currently not accepting your CC please pay via payal, that's what i have done and have found my sales to increase over %100, obviously that sentence would be a link for them to pay via paypal.
