What would help YOU most - if it were free?

In honor of my upcoming 500th post, I want to give back to the community.

Many others have given away War Room Memberships (well worth the price BTW).

I'm willing to do the same, but wondered:

What would actually help you the most if you could get it for free?

Is it:
  • War Room Membership?
  • Graphics?
  • Advice from a Guru?
  • CPA info?
  • Keyword research info?
  • Article writing?
  • SEO info?
  • Something else?

Let me know what you think Warriors - doesn't matter if you're a newbie or a long-timer... what would help you most and why?

Thanks in advance for your opinions,

Gary

      dannyadams,

It's nice to see that kind of appreciation for that section of the War Room, it's certainly true.

        Ditto...

This is *absolutely* an option as listed above.

In fact, I'll probably do this in addition to any other ideas folks may have... that way, someone benefits from it AND Admin gets a little pocket change for allowing us access to these resources.

I agree 100%. I would advise any new War Room member to completely ignore the rest of what's in there until they've consumed all the knowledge Allen has shared in his "My Ideas, Strategies, & Plans" sub forum. Unless there is something that you're specifically looking for in the War Room. Probably even then.

To avoid giving something that goes unused or is under appreciated, you could try something a little different.

        • Pay for their WSO
        • Pay for their Warrior For Hire ad
        • Pay for their Warrior Classified ad
        • Give them a half hour of your time to brain storm upsell/back end offers, email follow up sequences, list building strategies, etc.
        • Promote their offer to your list with a solo mailing or in a newsletter
        • Do an hour long webinar with them and use the recording as additional content or as value added content to their initial offer
        • etc.
        • All or any combination of the above

With all of the above, you can make sure that whoever you choose to help actually does something. If they never take action, there won't be a WSO for you to pay for, a reason to mail your list, etc.

Have interested parties formulate a plan and submit it to you by a certain date. Pick a winner and give them another deadline for getting their offer put together.

        If they follow through it's a win-win-win.

You win by giving back to someone truly deserving.

The recipient wins by getting their offer live and launched (as well as gaining valuable "in the trenches" experience).

Their audience (your subscribers, WSO buyers, etc.) wins by getting a special deal on a product/service of value to them.

Its good to see some one actually giving back to the warrior forum community for a change. Now I pretty much have everything down now. Although I have been seeing alot of post today about article marketing and ezine articles. So maybe some info on article marketing and the proper way to do it. I have also been seeing many taking about email marketing today. Now it is a mix disscussion really for the trend I have been following is the one regarding the proper time to sell in emails series.

There are some who are saying to sell with every email. However I do sell with pretty much every email. I go about it in a completely different approach than many would. For I offer them free information. The links in some of the mails send them to a free video to watch. Then below the video is a link to a product. I hardly ever directly sell from the email series but instead I send them to a page with a subtle product offer.

But any how just thought I would drop in and say congrats. Everything you where offering should be a good for many who are here.

There are many, many others that have come before me that gave (and still give) back as well. I can't claim copyright on it.

Lol no you definitely can not claim a copyright on giving back to the warrior forum. I give help where I can myself. As all of us are aware. In this business we never stop learning new tricks of the trade. The internet is still far too new for us to know it all in a couple of years.

Yes we can learn good practices however I just found a way I can build links back to my site using software I have branding rights to. This tactic actually brought my site to the front page in just a few short weeks. Along with many many many backlinks to the sites I used this technique on.

So for you programmers out there keep this in mind you can use your software to build links back to your sites no matter what the niche. Just by submitting your software to software directories.

I'd say a step-by-step approach to generating quality traffic...not massive sums of viewers but qualified buyers interested in your product or service...

My gut is that this is where most of aspiring IMers have the most problems...

      Thanks for your gesture...

To all that have posted so far:

I'm out of "Thanks". I have been trying to thank everyone for their feedback, but I clicked that little button too many times and broke it. (I'll try to get back on it when I'm under my limit again).

          SO, Thank You!

So many people are willing to give free review copy's of their WSO's so people can review.

So you could ask any non warroom members with a WSO they would like to launch to send you the WSO you review and the best one get warroom membership ( a pre requisite for a WSO launch)

Then you could help them launch it and give a true testimonial as you did in essence pay for it.

LOVE this as well Cathy. It actually came to mind for me too sometime last night while posting responses.

Are you sure you haven't hacked into my brain?

First, thank you for wanting to give back. Its always wonderful to see people do that.

Second, I can't believe that someone would get a free War Room Membership but not use it. *sigh*

But back to your question: Me, personally, A War Room membership would help me out a lot, so would a Warrior for Hire ad (which could be another option if you didn't want to do a membership for the War Room).

I also like the idea of mentoring someone or giving them advice. Not only would be it helpful to them for obvious reasons, but also because sometimes its just nice to talk to someone about Internet Marketing. I'm sure there's a lot of us, that really don't talk to anyone about internet marketing outside of this forum because we have no one to talk to. So just from an "encouraging" standpoint it could be a good option.

However, I could also use a new computer, or perhaps that bar of gold lol.

Well you probably wont like my answer, as i guess it will go down like a lead baloon.

My answer is nothing, why? a while back a warrior gave away a membership and the new owner came back where they saw no value in the warrior war room then almost straight after posted some other stupid self promotion crap.

They had learnt nothing nor did they appreciate it, at the time i was ready to pop my hand in my pocket like you ( for my 1000 post ) but after seeing this, i seen that some times people need to earn it to appreciate it and when you give it to them your basicly wasting it away.

yes i may give one away down the line but it wont be for a post number but more so if i spot a genuine person who can use it and will not treat it like some lucky dip at a side show.

Gary I love warroom membership give aways, but I often see guys that have been on here for many years and want membership.... and the other day I saw one of the new guys who was sponsored membership say he thought warroom was overated...To really appreciate the warroom I believe you need to make the sacrifice

I was also thinking about one day I will give something back but warroom membership does not help people who I really think needs a helping hand ... newbies who buy there own warroom membership and contribute are actually trying.

How about giving away 2 bumps on any paid advertising forum WSO,Classified etc that way you know the person is trying... minimum entry requiremnts must have warroom membership and have something on the paid advertising forums

      I'm with you on this.

Over the past year I have sponsored a few people into the WR and judging by their posts and websites etc., I doubt if some of them ever went in there. Its sad really . . .

IMHO something personalised for the person's business could be more valuable.

      Awesome input as always Cathy...

After my initial post, I actually thought about editing it to include a WSO or classified ad listing, so we're on the same track. (Great minds think alike, eh?)

  • advice from guru

something that i could use, go away and start implementing straight away

im not just talking ideas, im talking about the exact process that person uses, recorded in screencast, something that i could do over and over again to bring traffic in

i think even with the war room membership i would just get lost inall the ideas and opinions from everyone

i just need one person to tell me what to do , im basically like a dog, i need to be thrown a bone, but once its thrown i will keep coming back to that one person to throw again

Firstly no such advice exists ..... secondly if it did it would most probably be in the warroom .... You have a complete misconception about what the warroom is .... it is a huge forum with hundreds of free stuff that sometimes sell for 100s of dollars elsewhere. It is not discussions about ideas and opinions

there is such advice, if i were to sit down with a 'guru' and watch him do what he does to gain traffic or whatever, then i would be watching him complete a task, he wouldnt just click his fingers and it be completed, he would have to do 1>2>3>4>5

There is an order to everything

I think if you saw a "guru" do everything step by step you will realize that you could not do it as a huge percentage would be outsourced big budgets spent to make the big money. So yes he does not click fingers but I believe allot of clicking paypal buttons would happen.

Then there is the definition of a Guru? In IM world that is so subjective its scary..... there are so many step by step programs in ths free forum just sort by rating, and you will see and yes many more in the warroom.

Yes i use the term 'guru' in quotes as 99% there is a little bit of sarcasm when i say it in my head

well even if i know what he/she outsources, watch them managing it all, that still priceless information to me personally

if they are doing it and its working for me, i would copy it and see what i can make from it

yes i am still looking for a WSO i havent search by rating yet, didnt know you could do that, thanks for the advice

WSO's and paid advertising forums are the only ones you cannot sort by number of views or ratings... I suggest on the main forum you see at the top of the forum page it says rating, above the column wher you see stars click that and it will give you all the 5 star threads read some they have great steb step stuf in them some of them

There is an order to everything

well i feel like an idiot

my bad, tbh i didnt even bother looking into the war room

i thought it was just a forum for the pros to hang out and stuff

i may have to have a look at a subscription

DON'T feel like an idiot - there's no reason to.

Listen, the war room is awesome. It worth hundreds of times what the investment is - IF you use it properly.

Example - you can spend $27 on a hammer at the hardware store. If you use the hammer to clean your car, it may not give you the best return on investment.

If you use it to pound nails into 2X4's to build a house for someone that's homeless but trying, that's not a bad return, eh?

There's some marketing going on in the war room, there's not doubt. HOWEVER, if you USE what you find in there - if nothing else the posts by admin - seriously, this is great information.

Here's some more details on it, just so you have it.

The War Room is one of the best things I have ever purchased in my life...

But, if I were to choose one thing that I would get for free, perpetually and endless, it would never be an information thingy.

The only two things that I would pick from the list are article writing anfd graphics, assuming that I am the only one who gets it free. And I would pick article writing first.

I would grab my infitnite number of articles, and then sell them on demand and retire.

Moral of my choice: All I mean is that taking the pains that others want to avoid is one of the most certain ways to make a good amount of money.

What a great idea to get some input about other possibilites before offering a gift.

I think there have been 5 or 6 War Room sponsorships since I joined WF. I never posted in any of them because I know I can afford it and someone else would benefit more. (I have too many irons in the fire and I am waiting until I have a block of time I can set aside to dive in. I know that sounds silly but that is the only way I can operate.) Even though I have not requested a membership I have always admired the generosity of the Warriors giving them away. Even though there may be some that don't appreciate it I think most are very excited when they get sponsored. I also think the threads contribute to a nice positive spirit and a sense of community.

Anyway back to your question.... Here is my input for the top 3 choices...

    In no particular order:
    War Room membership
    Cathy's "bump" idea is genius
Create a video for someone's site

Thanks Janice, and for what it's worth, this is the spirit that gets people sponsored.

On a positive note, are your current projects making money?

Is there something that would help you take your efforts to the next level?

      Hi Metro1,

What areas of marketing are you most interested in?

Do you have a direction or focus as of yet?

Coaching can be a *wonderful* thing - IF you get the right coach guiding you in the things you enjoy...

What do I mean? Simple - if you are a basketball player, and you get the best football coach in the entire world to guide you, you may not be the happiest (or anywhere near the best) basketball player.

I think a 50lb gold bar would be extremely helpful :-P

I guess the real answer depends on who you give your help to. If it is someone that is just starting out, a War Room membership is by far a great deal and helpful investment. If it is someone that has been in IM for a while, and is making a decent income, some advice on how to increase their business, or expand into new areas would benefit them.
If you want to toss this gift my way, I would gladly pay the shipping cost of the gold bar though (Hope I gave you a smile)

My gift will be open to Warriors of all levels - that's why I'm asking.

Look, I've helped people with only a few posts, and done free stuff for those with more than 10K posts. It doesn't matter - it's what people need that I want to give!

The most helpful thing would be some mentoring on how to find niches that you can promote. This has been the hardest thing for me to get the hang of. I have never been able to find a niche that is low comp and high traffic. Maybe the reason I have such a hard time figuring it out, is because I do it in my free time.

It would be a life saver.

Do you feel it would be best to do a tiered thing like:

      • One teir for those with more advanced tastes

First of all, Its nice to see people like you in the world. Most people come on the forum as newbies asking/begging for help but when it finally clicks for them then they become selfish, driven only by greed. Now for the answer to your question. I would like one on one help setting up a very profitable ppc campaign from start to finish. why ppc? because every one tell me its the easiest/quickest way to reach $100 a day profit and thats what i would need to live comfortable. Hi. I think what I would find most helpful is if "keyword research" could be boiled down to a step-by-step science.

I don't mind work and I can do "science," but most of what I've come across seems more like "art" or "instinct," and a lot of what I've read, and a lot of the videos I've watched, seems to contradict a lot of the other stuff I've come across; and in fact I get the impression it is largely hit and miss and luck and numbers, or the lack thereof.

So if you've got "keyword research" down to a science, that would be very helpful.

Other than that, that 50lb gold bar sounds nice... but wait, I'll go one better: how about a 40lb gold bar? That would more than satisfy me, see, and you've already saved a fortune over giving it to the other guy! ;*)

I'm open to your ideas folks and will *absolutely* consider them.

You're all asking for keyword research, niche ideas, etc.

My two current favorite things are:

Even though I'm in NO way an Adsense beginner - WSO by Zeus66 (coaching) - covers Adsense from the very beginning, includes keyword research, domain selection, building sites, linking, etc

WSO by Michael Oksa - covers using the Warrior Forum for researching products/niches. Lots of "lightbulb" moments where you think to yourself "oh yeah, that's a great way to do it".

I don't want to link to these as it is frowned upon - do a search or pm these guys for more info.

In full disclosure, yes I paid for both these, I was not asked to review them.

        All success,

Gary thank you for the offer.I was going to say help with article marketing. But then I read through the list warroom benefits and saw that article marketing help was available there as well as I believe some graphics as well. Both are areas I'm weak in. I know what niche I want to help out in is but focused keyword research would also help to target a segement.
Somebody brought up the notion that a person that gets something for free might not appreciate it as much as if they paid for it. I tend to agree with that generally speaking, but it depends on the person and their circumstances.
I like the idea of exchanging value for value, so as a suggestion why not ask the person you choose for the gift which one area they need help in and have them submit something in that area to you that might be of benefit to you before gifting a membership. Having the confidence to know you can do at least "decent work" goes a long way in establishing confidence to get started.
As for me article writing and marketing is my big bugaloo. My friends all tell me that write well but...I never wrote for public consumption before. Usually when I write I put my heart into and well it can be scary to be exposed if you will. So if you choose me as a requirement for the membership, have me write enough articles to approximate the entry cost to the warroom on your topic choice(s) using keyword(s) that you choose. you could critique it and have me fix the errors. Now it might become evident I'm not be worthy to be called a writer and my friends are... well my friends.
That way I've shown some tangible effort and you have the knowledge your gift will be appreciated.
An alternative might be if I'm chosen and my writing is good enough to offer help to set up a classified ad for article writing. Nothing beats small success.
        Those are my thoughts.
Again thank you and all the others here who offer advice and help everyday.

          Hi Lyn,

Thanks for your feedback - I like the idea of asking the recipient to provide something to show they are "into" it. I had considered this as an option, and I've gotten this underlying vibe from other posters and some of the PM's I've been exchanging, so I'll likely make that part of it. I'll try to find a balance to help those that don't have their own path as of yet as well.

I can't speak for why someone new would not appreciate the War Room membership (or any gift, for that matter). Find someone who is genuinely trying to earn and learn their way online, and they will appreciate any generosity you provide.

        Best Wishes,
        Anna

Well thought out words Anna_O. Sometimes gifts aren't received well for one reason or another.

That said, your words show me that you are considering your actions carefully, a major step in running any business online or off.

Do you have any launches planned or products in development?

          All success,

You pose an interesting question. One which I,ve often asked myself, and to be honest Ive had to think long and hard for the answer. Up until the last year or so, I've been quite fortunate in that I had good jobs with more than adequate income. This in some respect blindfolded me to the possibilities of having to scrabble to make an income to support my family. Consequently the recent events that affected economies around the world led to a major shift in my ability to continue to support my family using traditional methods.
Finding myself on the metaphorical scrapheap at 52 years of age, was a major wake up call. I was unemployed for 7 months, during which I applied for numerous positions to no avail. I am currently working 10 hours a day in a manual capacity, for minimum wage. I came across the concept of Internet marketing years ago, but because I was comfortable I only played with it (Mistake No1). I had of course heard of the Warrior forum but had not attached much importance to it (Mistake No2). Recently I remedied those errors. I carried out a google search and here I am. I lurked for a week or two and liked what I'd found, so I joined as a free member. Now, when I'm not at work or sleeping, I devote the rest of my time to learning about online marketing. Through information and advice freely given within this forum I have chosen a method and established a plan to follow that My budget will stretch to and I am determined to make it succeed. I will continue to work so that I can re-invest any profits for tools and outsourcing to streamline the operations. when real success comes I will follow the example of other fellow Warriors and give back.

As to your original question. I believe that yourself and our fellow warriors give enough already, and on a daily and ongoing basis.

Sorry this was so long, promise I won't do it again.

Proud to be a Fellow Warrior

          Geoff
          Geoff,

No need to apologize for the length of your post - you're sharing and that's one of the things this forum is about.

Stay strong. Stay active. Stay focused. Adjust rapidly when things aren't working. Scale up quickly (within reason) when things are working.

I'll have to put you down for general support or focused info or something, 'cause even though there are lots of people here that give on a ongoing basis (as you suggest) I'm gonna do some more...

          All success,

          Gary

    Gary,
First off, thank you for giving back to the community. I read your posts and they're always informative as well as enjoyable.

I would have to say two things would be helpful to my new business now:

    1. A war room membership would be great.

    2. The continued support of those from WF who use my article writing service. I've worked with some wonderful people on here already. I think having a way for warriors to work together and help each other out is what makes this place so addictive.

I'm still waiting on your WSO about looking like a super model in ten...no wait...5 days.....

Thanks for the kind words Rose, I'm glad you find my posts helpful!

      For your recommendations:

      #1 above, gotcha.

#2 above, perhaps I'll follow @Cathy Shelver's advice below... do a review for people and pay for their WSO.

Do you have an offering coming up soon?

      Gary

P.S. - The "Look Like a Supermodel" WSO should be ready in about 10 days,,, er, I mean 5 days.

I personally could use tips on building an email list hehe. I'm very bad at building my email list - I just don't know any ways to do it!

Gary another Idea that just hit me (your thread has my brain working plus i have been thinking about this for a while).

    Hi,

Good to know that you are interested in giving back to the community. It really convinces me to share some thing also when i will be earning good by learning some stuff from the forum as i am still a newbie here.

I would say that a war room membership is great. I would like to look inside. Have heard a lot about it but could not manage to build funds to pay the war room membership fee, so a war room member ship for me will be a good gift.

    Thanks

Gary, I'll take two of the 500# bars, and I'll even pay the trucking...

I can understand how a few people, without the proper context, could look at the first page of the War Room and get the idea it's just abig ol' giveaway flea market. Even if many of the giveaways are or were selling for a pretty good price, and using the knowledge in them would be hugely advantageous.

From time to time, I pick an inner page and just read. You find long, meaty threads with a lot to offer.

It would require some help from Allen and his IT staff, but my suggestion would be a special WR membership that restricted the recipient to the private posts section, even if only for a period of time.

Lacking that, I kind of like Cathy's idea of sponsoring an initial posting of a WSO + an impartial review...

        John,

I've taken the liberty to edit your post because it's amazing. These two points will make ANYONE's War Room membership even more valuable.

        Folks, listen to John please.

DON'T think the war room is nothing but giveaways. There are a lot of them (because Warriors want to give back). MANY of them are AWESOME.

START with the detailed threads (sort by views/replys) and *absorb* - don't just read. Read Alan's postings. Then, get into the amazing bunch of free tools, reports and more you can have for the taking. (Just make sure to DO something with them instead of stuffing your hard drive like a Thanksgiving turkey with them.

Thanks for the input and excellent feedback John.

    Gary

      Thanks @DarkTangent.

For what it's worth, you CAN give back starting immediately.
      • Keep participating.
      • Keep asking good, well thought-out questions. I
      • f you have a service you can perform, give it to the next warrior that you think could use it.
      • Offer what worked for you.
      • (this is a hard one) - share what didn't work for you.

If you do the last one, be prepared for some blows to the head with a blunt object. Take them and smile. Truth is, if you're honest and transparent, there will be those that will say "that's stupid" and those that will really dig in their heels, analyze your efforts and guide you back on track to making money.
