Need advice on getting a custom blog made..

Good morning fellow warriors (it's 2.49am Sunday here) I have a few questions that I need answered before I hire a desinger to design a custom blog for my authority niche site.

- I am looking at getting a custom blog done including header, footer, opt-in box (gotta build that list), sides, ebook & cd cover (for free report and audio download for opting in, are there anything else that I should consider getting done for my blog by a designer? Here is an example of what I am looking for Ellis Fitness in relation to type of header and opt-in box layout. I don't like the tabs, do I do the tabs myself or is this something the designer does? Are the hard to change down the track?

- Can I go ahead now and install my WP blog and put articles, my content on it and add the custom Header etc later (is there any problems doing this) or I'm I better off waiting and doing it all together?

- Are there anythings that I need to know before I hire a designer?

- Can you recommend a great custom blog designer? I have looked in the warriors for hire section and just found it very confusing.

- Do I still need to get a premium theme or would this be included with the other work I'm having done? If yes, should I get the premium theme installed first?

Thanks again people, hope your are having a great weekend.

I have used Ryan Leisure of digitalblissdesigns.com for numerous projects and I've always been happy with him.

If you have someone custom design a wordpress theme for you, you don't necessarily need to buy a premium theme.

When you get a wordpress blog designed for you I would recommend:

Have google analytics or some other tracking system installed

    Have an SEO plugin installed

Have a spam filter of some type installed

Decide whether or not you want to allow comments to be enabled. And whether you want the comments to be dofollow or nofollow.

There's a link to the designer from Ellis if you like that design ... I'm sure he could do something similar, but no ... you do not do the tabs yourself. You tell the designer what you want.

You can do that since they will be basically just changing the theme.

Same things that you need to know before you hire anyone ... feedback from other customers, examples of design they've done ... and don't pay more than 50% up front.

No ... that's what you are paying a designer for.

Thanks again people, hope your are having a great weekend.
