HostGators technical staff are AWESOME!

Oh my god.... how could someone manage to set up a website on hosting without the help of the technical staff.

I was totally lost trying to figure out what to do.....luckily after 30 minutes I got someone to help me.... big time saver!

    I can echo your statement. Have used Host Gator's online tech support several times, with great results. Just in time, too, as my frustration level was at the boiling point.

    Their tech support is one reason (among many) I will cheerfully stick with them for my hosting.

    Wow, I am in the minority here. I have had 80% of staff NOT knowing what they are talking about but everyone once in a while there is a staff member that is really helpful.

      Out of 12 times I needed assistance, 10 problems were solved in the initial session, one was solved in another session the next day (different support tech), and the last I didn't solve through tech support but did solve through using a different approach to the problem.

      I agree - I have been with Hostgator some 4 or 5 years now and have never really had any problems .................. BUT, some of the support staff can be a bit vague. However with persistance you will get the right answer after bouncing eMails back and forth.

      Yes, they are awesome. While setting up accounts have not been a problem for me on Hostgator ever - it was very obvious to me in a way (since I come from a Computer Science background I guess it became easier), but one of my email accounts had some issue twice - existing mails were not getting shown which was equivalent to lost emails. Both the times I got excellent support - right online in the first chat session - and they solved it - first time temporarily and then I guess permanently (issue has not repeated till date after that).

    I LOVE HOSTGATOR!! My only problem so far has been I live in the same city and they are charging sales tax NOW!!! But it is only a few extra bucks!!

    Only had one tech that didn't know what he was talking about.

      This is not a complaint, just an observation: all their online support techs seem to have two or three letter Chinese last names and Western-style first names, such as David Lu, Charles Wu, Michael Cho. The grammar and spelling are perfect, too, I've noticed.

    I love them too!

    In fact, yesterday something happened with my main blog and it was taking up too many server resources.

    Normally when this happens, most hosting companies will suspend you.

    What hostgator did was install the wp caching plugin for me instead.

    The best part is that they did this all without me even knowing it!

    I found out when I checked my email and they had sent me an email telling me what had happened and what they had done. Apparently it fixed the problem as everything is good now (and my site is faster too!)

    i'm giving some useful comments since i needed 50 to PM people to buy stuff.

    well here goes,
    i'm using hostgator's baby plan with the unlimited domains add on and bandwidth.
    in my opinion, i think it's quite a value for money bundle.

    and me being a real su*ker for simple technical stuff, their staff has been really patient, responsive and they solve problems almost in just the chat session itself.

    patience is a virtue, and hostgator has it.

    but one thing to note though, is that they haven't asked me to verify my account when i had a problem, all i did was to provide my domain. so i'm not sure if there's security issues here.

      This morning I logged into one of my sites and it had been stripped bare
      of all content. Four years of articles and comments up in smoke.

      After trying to install my backup files unsuccessfully I contacted
      HostGator support. It took them all of five minutes to have the site
      returned to normal with all the missing content.

      I guess I'm trying to say "They Rock"

      To be honest, if it wasn't for Hostgator's staff I'd probably still have no idea how to build a website. When I first got started I was constantly on the phone with Hostgator. Most of the time they were very patient and helpful.

      Also another thing I learned is if I ever had a problem with my website at night, I would submit a ticket online. When I woke up in the morning not only did they explain where the problem was, but they fixed it for me while I was sleeping. Now how's that for customer service?

      Every once in awhile I had somebody who wasn't helpful. I usually just call back and I get someone else...

      HostGator is decent, we used to use them but the servers are just so overloaded and slow...switched to elief.com and haven't looked back since. Just as good, if not better support, and my sites run way faster.

    Glad to hear your great experience with host gator. I've used host gator previously for a year...sadly I never made much of their hosting actually just let it sat there because of my procrastination but their support was great I can attest that...while at least for the time I was on and for me but I see they've continue to carry this standard of excellence.

    It's hard to maintain good customer support and satisfaction especially when a company grows as large as it has. There are definitely glitches and issues but they've manage to sustain a somewhat standard of quality.
