Managing gobs of MFA sites: WP or xSitePro?

Lots of threads comparing WordPress and xSitePro, I know...

But since managing sites, especially when you start getting a bucketload of them going, is a time-slurper, I was wondering about this one thing: Which is better...

xSitePro with its built-in CSS and multi-site management wizards

~or~

some plug-in set for WordPress (or CP trick/method, or etc.) that I don't know about?

For example, keeping up with update date for each site, maybe reminders for this action, ease of accessing each site without having to schlep through FTP history, etc. are things that lend themselves to having a system that keeps things orderly for someone.

So which one is better for this? I'm unsure on which way to go (if there IS a best way).

Updating these sites to keep them fresh, of course, is important. I want to get a bunch of these going, but I don't wanna be *freaking out* about things when the VRE collection gets large. Knowing the best way to do this (even beyond the WP/xSP question) is so very important.

Any help would be imminently appreciated! Thanks, and looking forward to reading and taking advice... ~p

Depends what you mean by a made for adsense site. To me a MFA is one of these automated blogs that scrapes and steals other people's content. If thats what you are trying to d I'd say don't bother.

If you are planning on building out a network of micro sites, consider using mu or wp 3 with multisite enabled. You can manage hundreds+ child sites from your main site fairly easily.

Thanks RSK. No, I definitely don't want to be a part of doing something like that, mainly because I want to believe in what I do. Making sites that are actually useful to people, I think, is the way to go, at least for me.

I was thinking more on having unique content written and write some of it myself. Also, I've been reading a bit on doing useful sites in the way of review-type info, where the people that are ready to buy are looking for insight on a particular product that will help them in their buying decision. One Adsense ad, and one link to the product that is being compared/reviewed.

Some people, I've heard, are successful in running a business on scraped content, but I've also heard that a lot of their time is spent making new sites since the old ones get de-indexed. I'm too lazy for that!! ~paul

This is how I do it. All of my site are are using WP can I can control login at a click of a button (open as many tabs as I want)
Install lastpass and manage all your sites from there, easy to login and edit etc.
Theres a search bar at the top and will return results even if you put in. Piss easy and time save aswel as a good way to manage everything. You don't need to be messing with FTP etc.

Michael, this is awsome. This was the last question that had been bugging me that I needed to have answered before I dove head-first into this. Again, this was exactly what I needed. Thanks! ~p

    Michael,

    I seriously praise your persistance...

All of my site are are using WP
What's the security like, and how much time do you have to spend managing all of your sites?

I like XSitePro for it's simplicity - it's fast, easy, and no messing with plugins, version updates, etc, etc... I also run WP sites, but they're always more work!
