Buy "baby" plan from Hostgator for less than 10$. You can host unlimited domains on Hostgator with the "baby" plan. Buy a domain for every niche that you are going to market. Wordpress is easy to use so I would look into using that for your sites

A blog actually is just a type of website. WordPress is a good option because it has a more gentle learning curve than some other platforms and you can make sites that look like traditional websites as well as blogs. Set up correctly it does very well on the SEO front too.

You can integrate most any email autoresponder with WordPress pretty easily.

You would also do well to spend some time searching this forum. You'll find some of these basic questions answered already with a little looking around.

I think the OP is asking if they should build sites using Wordpress or static pages (.html, .php etc.)

Wordpress all the way. Google loves them, they are easy to update, millions of themes and skins for them....

YOu can actually make a wordpress based site look like it's not a blog at all.

Start building your list from day one... don't put it off. You can do this with either a blog or a standard web page.

The two main benefits of blogs are: (1) they have a built-in publishing platform, so you do not have to worry about coding HTML, CSS, etc. if you don't want to, and (2) the search engines tend to view them favorably compared to static pages.

The limitation of a a blog is mainly from a design standpoint. It can be difficult (but not impossible) to get a blog to lay out exactly the way you like it to. Blogs follow a specific layout which may not work with the design you have in mind for some of your pages.

  • Blogs are sites.

All that matters is that you pick a platform that is easy to manage and update.

Blogs will buy you access to Blog Directories. I prefer WordPress due to it's extensible plug ins. However I also use Joomla. Drupal is also a viable option for most people. All are free to download and install on your choice of host.

Google seems to be favoring interactive sites so pick a platform that allows you to manage users and comments.

I think I would go for your own website than go blogging. You get to be more flexible than just limit yourself with blogging. You can even customize your site but it'll be easier to use a theme from WordPress specially if you're starting out. WP is easier to use than most.

There is no such thing as a blog IMHO. A blog is just a website. I think you are actually asking what platform is best.

I used to hamd code sites in notepad, then I ramped up and started using cms's and auto-site builders. Now I use wordpress (non hosted) almost exclusively because once you get the knowledge and skills, it is so easy to throw up a site, edit its look, throw in a few plugins to help with SEO, and starting ranking within literally hours sometimes.

yup, i think ure talking about whether to go blog or website.
ii think wordpress blogs are good because of the conveniences of being able to update your site regularly if it's an ongoing one

a site, static one will be good if you have all information and content ready to be input.
but then to make it all beautiful and aesthetically appealing might be quite a task, so unless you're really good with coding, go with wordpress.

You've probably got the answer by now?
Wordpress, Wordpress or Wordpress - either will do?

Yea, don't get hung up on blog or website. Wordpress was originally a blog platform and out of the box it still is but it is so versatile it can be anything from a one page squeeze page to a full membership site. And much much easier than any "web creator" application. It's also free and continually developed and like some else said Google loves them so on page SEO is a doddle!

  • As you want to build email lists in future it is best to get your own website. Websites are more versatile & you will have your options open even if it is bit pricy. If you don’t want to continue with a niche, you can sell your domain at a good price.
