Hello Warriors,

As you can probably tell now, I am not actually doing any plastering work at the moment so I am working my nuts off on websites to hopefully soon compensate what I am losing.

I have a domain BestDebt.co.uk and I am looking to fill this site with unique content and adsense and CPA I am just stuck for template ideas or should I be thinking of using a CMS like drupal or joomla.

Any Ideas?

Danny

PS thanks for the header logo yesterday warriors the site carsukforsale.co.uk looks really good thanks

  • There's an awful lot being done on Wordpress these days CMS and SEO-wise. Maybe you're not keeping things as simple as they could be?

(this from someone who tends to get too complicated more often than she needs to ;-p)

  • I thought wordpress was more blogging??

hmmmm i will take a look

    Cheers

  • WordPress is so flexible that you can modify the template and make your site appear like a static site. You get the content management system and the flexibility of WordPress behind your site. So yes, I definitely will recommend WP.
  • Dan,

Wordpress blogs look more like websites now a days, with thousands of themes to choose from one is bound to fit the bill. Then there are all the plug ins that cover just about everything from adsense to seo and more.

Google loves a site which updates content regular, what can be better than site viewers leaving comments and posting new topics(moderated by you of course).

Best investment i ever made was putting wordpress on my sites main page.
  • So can adsense ect be added easily?

How does it fair in the SE's? is it easy to use? I tried using joomla and I was so confused it was untrue!

    lol

    Thanks in advance

    Danny
  • wordpress comes with the famous five minute install, Adsense plug in was a simple upload the plugin to the plug in folder. Log into the admin section of the wordpress blog insert your adsense code and save.

I use the all in one adsense and YPN plug in for more info use the link below.

  • OK so I have added adsense and thatw as very easy....

I just need to find a suitable free template.

    Thanks email2u.... lovely little plugin

    Cheers

  • here is the link to the wordpress org theme page.

    WordPress › WordPress Themes

also i highly recommend this plug in as well.

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...dpress-plugin/

what i like about it is it has a source code button, which will allow you to insert pop ups, optin forms, javascript and more directly into the posting and it will only happen/show on that posting no other postings will be effected by it.
  • Super, I found a template that I will use for now.

I am now looking to work out how to add content ect... do you know of a good wp guide?

    Cheers

    Danny
  • dan,

    Try this...WordPress Lessons WordPress Codex

also i updated my last posting with a must have plug in well i think so anyways.
  • Wordpress is the way to go, fellow warrior Teli Adlum has a guide with videos and a template, that will help you turn wordpress blog into a CMS (minisite) adsense included

Go here: Use WordPress as an Affiliate CMS - WP Affiliate Guide (not an affiliate link)

  • I tried installing that other polugin but I cant seem to see it in the plugin menu

    Thanks for the tutorials

    Danny
  • I also cant find Teli Adlum

    Cheers for all the help

    Danny
  • did you upload the plugin to its own folder within the plugin folder. ie

    /wp-content/plugins/deans-fckeditor-for-wordpress-plugin

If so then just login to the admin section and the plugin should be there. Each new plugin requires it's own subfolder within the plugin directory.

    Hope this helps,
    Geoff
  • Yay it worked this time,

I not paying for someone to to show me how to get wordpress to cms.... spend loads of money this week and not achieved much.

I will have a look a bit more into wordpress but if noluck then I will go back to joomla..... although I really like wordpress.

    Thanks

    Danny
  • Danny -

Just found this site: WordPress Theme Hacks

Maybe Wordpress is just familiar, but I totally think you can do just about whatever you want with it these days and so many others out there to support tech issues.

    Have fun with it --

Oh and this is a darn clear set of videos by Yaro Starak re. WP install and basic mods:

He 'talks' blogs, but he MAKES money )
