Question - When To Add Promotions?

Should I add AdSense and/or Amazon (Or other affiliates) promotions to my website as soon as possible, or should I wait for the website to be indexed by Google? I have heard putting promotions on your website before it is Indexed can slow things down, and I want to be indexed as quickly as possible. Any information on this would be helpful.

    I had a "free" products site a while ago that had adsense.

    It helped very nicely with rankings.

    I think in general it's probably best to wait until your site is indexed before monetising.


    I have tried both and in truth I have seen no difference but it does seem reasonable though
    to err on the side of caution.


    In practice there will be no traffic to site until it indexed (I assume you are not paying/sending traffic to this site) so there's no real financial gain. It takes about 24 hours to index a site so it's not like your waiting around much. If you have that much time then put together your next site while your waiting for the last one to index.

    I agree with Tony Marriott allow the site to be indexed prior to monetizing.

    Thanks for the help. I figured that would be the answer, but I wanted to ask to be sure. 24 to be indexed seems a bit quick to me, but I can see the "working on other sites while you wait" part as something I will be doing.
