Most effective press release distribution?

Hi Warriors,

I'll be doing a press release tomorrow and I usually use the $380 option over at PRweb.com but I thought I'd check here first before I just do it on autopilot as I know it's perfectly possible that amongst the thousands of fellow warriors someone knows of something new or better to get great distribution of press releases.

I've tried a few different sites and seemed to end up back at prweb but I'd love to hear your recommendations if you have had better results somewhere else.

PRweb is great. Two others I've used with no complaints are marketwire and prnewswire.

I saw one in the WSO who guarantees distribution on poplar blogs such as about.com, google ect. It's quite a reputable service. You might want to go check it out there. It's also completely hands free or at least that's what they guarantee.

The cost last I check was only $30 but I heard the links were no follow.

    All the Best,
    Benjamin

Can't say this list is better.

Can say they have your links permantly placed
on their websites which are high ranked.

If you are wanting to achieve long term search
rankings, then these 18 are a good way to go.

      All free to submit.

I think it depends on what you want to achieve with the press release Andy.. some can shoot your site up through the Google index and supply a ton of long-term quality backlinks, others can get tons of short-term traffic but almost no long-term SEO benefits.

      Hi Louise,

The purpose of the press release isn't to get links - it's the get the message out that my client has snagged a high profile new person who's well-known in the industry.

It's a PR thing rather than a linking or website thing. They already have number 1 for most of their keywords so this isn't about that.

I'm happy enough about getting links with press releases, I'm just wondering if there are any really powerful alternatives for media distribution, especially in the UK rather than the places we all know of as IMers.

I've used Daniel Tan's press release formula that he has sold here, got to page 1 with 3 listings and it didn't cost me a dime.
