Aweber- Turning UNVERTIFIED Subscribers into Verfitied? - How ?

by entry
15 replies
If you have 40 subscribers, and 30 unverified subscribers, you have a total of 40 subscribers on that list. (and wasted 30 unverified subscribers who won't get the emails )

the other 10 have Not been verified (not clicked their verification email) but I want them to be verified.

I cannot do it myself on aweber so how can I get them other 30 verified? as that is a large chunk of subscribers I would need.

(besides turning off the double opt in for future subscribers)

How can I turn these 30 unverified wasted subscribers into leads,
-some how send them a reminder email? is that legal?
-contact aweber to Delete them all, and then I CAN add them myself?

any other method?

also have you been in this situation? how did you get around it ?

Do you know where they live and do you have a handgun? lol

With such a high rate of unverified subscribers, maybe you should take a look at your confirmation email. What does it say? Always provide value even if you are just asking for the confirmation.

Why do you want someone to join your list that doesn't want to be on your list? just asking.....

    My best to you.

With AWeber, you cannot communicate with unverified
leads because they have not confirmed their opt-in.

That's the way it should be.

If so many people are not confirming their subscription,
then it sounds like a flaw in your process somewhere.

Take a look at the desireability of the free gift you're
offering and the copy you're using on the web page and
    confirmation e-mail.

Flaw in the process? I thought this too, but where could this flaw be?

(I am using the aweber template vertfication email)

they surely can't be subscribing and Ignoring that Vertify email in their inbox can they?
could it be in their junk box ?

But where could this flaw be?

Look at what you're offering them as an incentive to
        sign-up for your list...

Is it something, they really, really want?

What copy is written on the web page you send them
to once they've entered their details?

Does it motivate them to go and check their inbox right
away to go and click on the verification link?

          Thats where im confused,

as, if the sales page weak was poor, then they Wouldnt have even subscribed in the first place right?

If the incentive offer was poor, then they wouldnt have wanted it, so wouldnt have subscribed in the first place.

If you saw a crap copy incentive, you wouldnt bother subscribing for it, let alone Subscribe to Ignore the vertification email, you would just by pass it.

          Right ?

            Wrong.

People are motivated enough to enter their e-mail address.

You're losing them somewhere between there and the
            verification e-mail.

So look at the steps in between.

In addition to the questions I mentioned above...

Is your target market familiar with the idea of verifying
their e-mail address? Do they know what to do? Is it
            explained clearly enough for them?

It could be a glitch with AWeber (I doubt that though)
so look at your own process first to eliminate the usual
            suspects.

Aweber will deleted unverified subscribers after 30days, if you wanted to deleted them sooner I think you can do it manually. Though I suppose if you do it after only a week you'll miss people who have been away or who just misunderstood what to do and come back to your email later.

I recently ran a solo ad and I use aweber and double opt-in. When I ran this solo ad I received about 150 subscribers but only about half confirmed registration. I talked to the person who ran the ad and they suggested I switch to single opt. I changed it on this list as its a 7 day course so I don't think someone will send the wrong email to 'get a free download' b/c there is no download, lol. So I switched that particular list to single opt-in. What I started doing after that was going back and writing the email addys done (this sucked, but what am I too do). Then I enter them into my form myself. However, you have to wait like 3 days since the last time they 'subscribed', also Aweber will only allow 10 email addy's to be added from the same IP each day, rather you enter them on your form or from your control panel. You could try to add them using the 'import' option, but I tried this when I switched to Aweber and found it hard to use.

If you're doing anything business related, I recommend double optin. First, you can shield yourself from spam complaints.

Second, if you do any kind of JV deals with people, some folks only want to do biz with people who have double optin lists....
Lastly, think about Double Opting in a a prequalification process.

If they don't click on a confirmation link while they are "fresh", you wont' have to worry about them continually opening up emails and click on buy buttons way down the line - IMHO

  • From my reading of this, there's a good chance that the unverified email addresses just haven't got to the right people.

They could just be invalid email addresses.

More likely, they could end up in a spam folder. If you're not in a tech savvy market, people just won't spot these. You need to look at the email that's sent and see how you can make sure it's delivered.

Yes. Switch your campaign to Single Opt-in System or else just look at your confirmation email. your email content and subject is important for your unverified subscribers to confirm the link to get rolling.
