Backlinking Doubt.. Please help.

Hi guys, I was wondering that do getting backlinks from sites like livejournal and wetpaint etc really help in serp positioning? Why I am doubting this is because eventhough those sites have high PR but the pages that we create are PR- ... so are they still beneficial ??

They do help but they aren't the "high powered" links that you think. The best way to utilize their power is to build them up with backlinks as well. An even better way to utilize it is to build them up with backilnks AND give great content to boot AND promote them.

Most niche marketers usually trash these kinds of sites, using them solely for link juice. If you use them correctly, you can create mini-site niches within your main market and not only sell products but also push the searchers through to your main site.

hmmm i think it's a waste of time then, i was just using them for backlinking, although i bookmarked them but now i feel i'd rather spend some more time in submitting articles to article directories and yeah i tries submitting PRs, helps so much.

They do what article directories do. You post content to them, back-link, and repeat. The "juice" of the link is determined by the time and what site you're posting to. There a waste of time in my opinion. Article directories are faster and easier to deal with.

i am gonna have to agree with you on that, another benefit of articles directories like EZA ive seen is that the articles get syndicated and so do your backlinks.

I am also trying Free Traffic System the free version, it's gud in my opinion, have you used it?

Of course they help! The question is - how to get them to help effectively and efficiently.

Well, if you set up those sites, you need to backlink THEM to get them juice, which they then pass on - to your money site.

So you ideally need some sort of 'link wheel' type of structure (though not a completed link wheel of course as G is on to that) around them.

So use a 'white hat' sort of Scrapebox structure: or go 'light grey hat' and go for SERPAssist here, the new guy on the block compared to Brute Force SEO or SENuke.

Automation is called for here - life is too short to be setting up web 2.0 profiles.

All backlinks are beneficial to your SERP, just the ones from the sites that are in your niche carry more weight than just general backlinks. Links from authority sites, high ranking article directory sites and niche blogs will give you more link love for sure.
