I used this guy AGES ago and he's even posted my first ebook on this thread: STUDIO Quality eCovers @ One Ridiculous Price

But I can't seem to find him and am wondering if anyone's got experience with this type of design and whether you'll be able to help me out with some cover designs as higher quality as the ones in that thread?

    Actually looking at it now - there's a "Warrior Forum Director's Cut" box on there lol

    Those are the best ones I've ever seen. They are photorealistic. In fact, I'm not sure if they AREN'T photos, they're that good.

      They're not photos, there's a software product that makes these, I believe...

      I know someone who has it, but isn't online right now - if I remember in the morning, I'll ask him.

      the one I'm thinking of was Box Shot 3d... Box Shot 3D: Ebook Cover and Boxshot Software For Windows and Mac Ebook Covers

      But, after looking at the examples, I'm not entirely sure now.

      Bryce 3d could do such a job, but you'd pay quite a bit... I use Bryce 3d for fun and love it, but I don't use it for covers just because I'd have to charge more.

        Interesting software there Karl.. For Mac & Windows both ..

        Gave it a try.. screenshot attached shows lines because this is the un-registered version..

        Not bad though

    Yeah, I don't think it's that Box Shot 3D. Those look like the standard fare for that type of image. That one Rich is referring to puts all the others to shame.

    That software looks nice. I am sure someone who was already graphically talented could do some very cool things with that. Sadly, graphics are not my forte'... lol Art never was a strong point.

      Those graphics do look pretty awesome, but I'd say that designer used some sort of 3D program like Maya, or 3DS Max. Those things are expensive, and you really need to know what you're doing to get any sort of decent result.
      For the best results (even if you're a noob) you should check out eCoverSuiteElite. It's what I use, and as far as photoshop actions go, I don't think you can beat it. You can find them at ecoversuiteelite.com

    Those Covers and Boxes really are great, almost photo quality.
    I'm sure I could create something like this but I'm not sure how long I'd need to get it done. It'll be a lot easier if you have the right software or actionscripts.
    Could give it atry though if you don't find anything.

    The quality is really good. Its only possible with a good 3D rendering software like Max or Maya. Of course the design needs to be created with photoshop.

    It can be done only if you good with both.

    Hello,

    You guys messing around, you know it was my birthday and I always
    read threads on graphics first.

    I guess I can't see what is so special... I'm getting older and my eyes
    must be not working as good.

    They look a little blurry and off balance.

    Feel free to point out what you like about them and what makes
    them the best you every seen so I can get it also.

    They look so professional with the little shapes by them.

    It's not like those cheap ActionCoverPro covers which have flooded the internet - these actually look real at a glance AND look pretty premium because of the shapes.

    I see you like the 3-d balls/ shapes added to the images, not that for example the covers edges are blurry and the mirror/reflection image is cloudy.

    Take the 4 dvd's they are skewed wrong...grab 4 dvd cases and set them up like that and that is what it should look like.

    The open lid box the corner edge where it meets the white and blue is so choppy and the reflection in front has a space that does not line up with the side reflection and it is not clean it hurts my eyes to look at that blurry mess and going down to the black it does not fade proper, it would have a dead cut off line with no fading.

    that is just a quick glance I looked at it for about 30 seconds but don't have enough time to talk about the rest.

    If the 3-d stuff added to the image is all your talking about being great cool.
