EZA and ArticlesBase-No affiliate links?

I've noticed that EzineArticles and ArticlesBase both have stated in their terms and conditions that they don't allow direct linking to affiliate pages-apparently ArticlesBase doesn't even let you do it in your resource box! (I was surprised to see this because I see people link from their articles a lot).

My question is, for those of you who write all types of articles in various markets, what is your work around for this? I mean, to me the main thing that makes this type of article marketing attractive is that you don't need to go through the pains of setting up a website and promoting it. You can just find Clickbank products and promote them. So I'd really like to know if there's any type of work around since Ezine and ArticlesBase are probably the two article directory sites with the best SEO. They pop up quite often on page 1 when I'm searching for stuff.

Also, I had another question. For people who don't have their own site they're promoting to the readers of these articles, what kind of thing do you usually try to say in the resource box? Obviously I don't want to say I'm an article writer trying to promote various Clickbank products!

Anyways, I know I always have questions. Thanks for your suggestions.

Ezine articles allows you to send people through a top level domain redirect to the affiliate link.

So basically, all you do is buy a .info domain name, and in then set it to redirect to your hoplink...

This will work with Article Base as well...

    Also, don't forget about GoArticles...

I've got a couple that are ranking quite well and beating my Ezine and ArticleBase articles...

    Mark.

Of course you don't say that. You need to make them want to click on your link in the resource box. You/your name name doesn't mean anything to them: say something about them and how clicking through that link will solve their problem.

Yep, as said above a redirect is fine. Or direct them to a squeeze landing page which links to the offer. Either way works, one is direct, the other presells the person.

The principle is right. The reality, though, is not always quite as straightforward as a couple of answers above suggest.

EZA have been known to decline articles on the grounds that the site linked to in the resource-box is "not adequately informative for our readers" (and that can apply to sales pages and all the more so to squeeze pages).

The reality (as fairly openly admitted to in their blog) is that they tend to do this only when they feel, also, that the article content is "derivative in tone". So if you want to get away with it, you may need to submit reasonably good quality and reasonably original articles as well, to avoid a problem. Just so that you know.

Whether you can make many sales by "direct linking" like this is, of course, another matter altogether. It seems to me that you'd be depriving yourself of both the two key ingredients of successful affiliate marketing: (i) the ability to pre-sell effectively, and (ii) the ability to build a list.

Not sure want you want to say your remark. In my resource box I show readers all the time how they can solve their problem (one that's associated with my article subject) and I've never had an article rejected. My CTR is out of this world too (see below):

My resource box for that article invites the reader to see an example of something I was talking about in my article (a problem they needed solved).

Thanks. Well you know, I can understand now why these sites won't allow a link to an affiliate product-it conflicts with the Adsense TOS, which says that you can't have any competing offer on a page featuring Adsense. So therefore, I can see why they actually wouldn't really want anyone linking directly to an offer even if it's under a different domain name than the actual original affiliate site.

It sort of bothers me that the "Bum Marketer" lays out the plan as if you can just write an article, post it to say, GoArticles, and then link to your offer. I seem to remember now that I had found out a while back that you couldn't do that, but over time I forgot the original reason why I didn't try this type of marketing (anyone else ever have that happen?).

I guess it would be worth it to put together a simple blog type site and write several articles related to the micro-niche. Do any of you run into problems finding enough related clickbank products to promote on those types of sites? The reason I ask is because I don't think I can really get away with just promoting the same offer over and over again.

It's a bit off topic for this thread, but the AdSense terms don't prohibit having affiliate links - or even other contextual ads - on the same page ad AdSense ads.

Use article directories as a resource to build traffic to you site and send them from your site to landing pages.

You have more control this way.
