Should Blog Ads Require Disclosure?

I recently started a website that is very similar to PayPerPost, but I've changed the rules a little bit. I wanted to get some opinions on the issue of disclosure on sponsored posts. PayPerPost requires disclosure on all of their posts, but I don't think it is necessary and am not requiring it. If a blog writer is willing to recommend a product or service that he or she thinks is trash, it will only be to their own detriment. There are hundred of product review sites that give honest reviews, but don't clearly disclose that they make money from the affiliate links. For now I'm leaving disclosure as an optional feature for advertisers to require....any thoughts?

I do not believe in disclosures.

First I do not have any affiliation with any company/product on any of my blogs unless I own the company/product.

Second, I have an open post policy.

You register first then post your own stuff and others can comment on it and it is usually hands free from my end outside of occasionally deleting non -related comments and that only takes a few minutes.

See the latest in my SIG ~ 2 days old ~ no maintenance required and by next month it will rank major...

Sounds like a winner to me. I have used PPP both as a publisher and postie. It works great. The problem is that many sites are now going nofollow. A nofollow link is practically worthless. I believe that links should be sold on the basis of how much traffic they provide. However, many people are against content creators (bloggers) making money advertising and they want to stamp out companies like PPP and reviewme.

Trust me, a paypal donate box don't even pay for hosting. For a blogger to make money they have to push product. That is the only way.
