I notice some guys here have ebook, audio ebook upsells, cd rom courses - physical courses. (made up of audios, videos etc)

and they Still have memberships sites in the same niche!

Just wondering about the content used to produce this? how do they come up with so much content?

and can they Re-use the same contnet they use for their Own DVD physical product as for the membership site? (the same contenet) ? I thought with this that why would people buy
1) memebership site subscription for months
2) Physical CD Rom course

why would they buy 2 identical courses? they ones who bought the physical course wouldnt buy the membership and Vice versa!

(I am on about the same product producer/owener producing the membership site + DVD physical product)-

    It depends on the Rights associated with such products...

    The existence of the product alone is not enough to say it can be used outside of your own use... In other words, just because you purchased it does not mean you can repackage and sell it...

    The people who are developing hundreds of pages of content are paying for the right to sell that content... Either they are buying PLR content, MMR content, or paying someone to create the content specifically for them...

    People will buy the membership site because they can read the materials at home, at their convenience while browsing the web... Membership sites are great, because there is usually fresh content coming out of a regular basis...

    Yet, they are willing to buy the physical product -- even if it is exactly what is in the membership site -- because they cannot always be in front of the computer...

    Riding to work, on lunch breaks at works, or on a comfy couch in front of the TV are great reasons to have some material in Physical format for anytime consumption...

    Willie Crawford is the master of repackaging... He said that he made several ebook cookbooks and people purchased each copy individually, but amazingly, some of the people who bought all five cookbooks individually also purchased the box set of the same five books...

    Sometimes just adding a bonus volume will cause people to buy a box set, even after they own each piece individually...

      oh let me clarity somthing

      Depends on the rights?

      I mean if the DVD physical product is Mine, and the memberhsip site is mine too, so i have full rights and full control. But i am just asking about reusing Same content for both strategies?

      (or would i need brand new content)

      Or would i put a warning sentence on the sales page saying :
      "Before purchasing your membership site, by the way if you have purchased my physical Dvd product ,then the conent is almost identicle" :confused:

        It depends on the product and offer.

        For example, you can offer the physical product for $997 and then offer the membership as a down sell for $497.

        There are many other ways to do this if it is the same content. It depends on what your objective is...

        Are you wanting continuity after the main product? If so, then you need more content for the membership.

        Can you sell the membership, then upsell to the complete physical product?

        The options are many.

        Cheers.

          Thanks for getting the options more clearer.

          What my objective is? = Make money.
          But seriously, build long term customers who will buy again and again + Build trust.

          As for the limits of content, i would prefer to use the same content for both models - but i can also produce More content if i have to.

          Can you layout the combinations of these Many ways please: Lets start with a Ebook at the Front end.

          Ebook-> Membership ($x a month) -> Upsell DVD physical ($497)

          Ebook-> DVD physical ($997) -> Downsell membership ($497)

          Ebook 1-> Ebook 2 -> Membership ($497) -> DVD?

          What other combos do you use, and have had success with?

          Do downsells tend to have a better chance of selling compared to upsells? (as they see the price is lower) ?

      1. Low ticket item ($27 - $67) eg ebook.

      2. I give them free access to lowest level membership site ($97.00)

      3. That leads to upsell ($197 - $497) Either one off or monthly.

      4. Final upsell coaching program $5K + - they get access to everything no additional cost.

      That's the model I used to use, the same I'm now putting back into place. Stop playing with it and just go do it - if you need to change later according to customer needs, then change later. Nothing wrong with that.

      Do You mean free access to one month of the membership site (worth $97) and then you will charge them for the following ones, if they wish to continue ?

      and which membership software are you using to upload your content ?

        Like Paul said the only limits to this are self imposed. Set it up the way you want it. The market will tell you if you got it right or not.

        That being said, you can definitely use physical product videos within a membership site. You probably want to have other content in addition to the videos but it's not a must.

        You can also use the same physical videos to make higher end or lower end products. Position it differently and add a bit more content ( if you feel you need to) for the high end. For the low end you don't need to de-content. Just worry about positioning and it needn't be under the first brand's name.

        It's a similar strategy that clothing makers use. The same parent company captures the high, middle, and low end of the market with clothes that for the most part come from the same factory and aren't put together that differently. They position them to match the market.

        You can do the same.
