To those who had PayPal shut them down

I just called PP because I'm nervous an upcoming launch that hopefully will increase my sales significantly and I wanted to make sure I took every preventable measure I could so my account wouldn't get shut down because of a sudden increase.

Just so you know, he told me they will want proof that the customer got their deliverables. And he said the Download Guard system where it shows customer attempted downloads WOULD be proof of customer getting their delivery.

So that may help some of you who worry about getting shut down from a large volume influx.

Kinda makes me nervous and want to use ClickBank.

Thanks for thinking of the rest of us by reporting this, Tiff!

I use E-junkie, which also keeps a log of IP addresses and attempted downloads. I haven't confirmed with a PP rep, but I'm hoping this means the same. I've got a launch coming up in the Fall, so I'm nervous like you were. I think I'll get on the horn to them this week for sure.

PayPal scares me too. They are kinda like Google, shut you down for any reason and don't explain or care.

As I mentioned in another thread, paypal reps say different things to me whenever I call.. Last time I got this, when I asked why accounts were being shut down...

"We only shut down accounts that sell fake goods, scam"...

Ok, so that site thats reselling my products illegally will get their paypal shut down?

That's why I like to use Clickbank as well. They are used to these huge launches making a million dollars in sales a week or whatever.

Their fees are higher but you have peace of mind plus I like that they handle paying affiliates and the tax implication that comes with it here in the U.S.

Thanks for info. I use DL Guard as well so nice to know that might help if I ever get into that type of problem with PayPal.

Funny isn't it, I have tried for the past year to CLOSE an account with Paypal without any luck, I just get the runaround.

The latest news from them is "your credit card has expired please submit a new one!"

I use CB too but some very high JV partners (guru level) won't JV with you if you're using PayPal and these are the people I'm trying to partner up with, so while affiliates will have CB available later, the JV partners want something direct via PayPal.

That's interesting. I had one person not guru level but very well-known with a huge and responsive list who didn't want to go via ClickBank either. I wonder what's the big deal. Bigger CB fees, higher refund rates, delay in getting paid? Probably all three huh. Anyway off-topic just find it interesting they don't like ClickBank.

I did end up setting up a special page for them going direct via PayPal since didn't want to miss out.

Did you mean to say they won't JV with you if you're using Clickbank?

I'm surprised they'll accept DLG logs as proof. They won't accept e-junkie transaction logs with IP and proof of downloads.

    Hey Tiffany,

I am wondering why you would not use clickbank? As others
have mentioned while you have issues like refund rates
their are many positive features such as simplicity, huge
    affiliate base, ect ...

I think for any type of product launch with sizable volume
paypal is not the best option.

I'd worry about doing a launch with CB. You hear so many reports of problems with lost sales due to problems with their payment process.

    Tiffany,

That is really nice to know.

I use either WSO PRO or e-Junkie for the complete transaction from payment to delivery. I know PayPal likes e-Junkie so the proof of download from both WP or eJ should be great.

    Thanks for spreading the news.

George, they will not take proof from eJ. I just lost two disputes because of that. Sent them the logs and all. I was pretty miffed over that...lol.
