Does anyone use google checkout?

I didn't even know it existed until now.

Just curious if it would be a good alternative to paypal.

    No, not really.

    Google Checkout had a huge marketing hype during development, but then it was launched, and what came was limited and constricted.

    They only accept US and UK vendors, and the integration for each is DIFFERENT. It's like it was written by two different programming teams who never talked to each other.

    They also require you to have an SSL certificate on your website just to accept an IPN. They're the only 3rd party processor that requires this.

    I'm not sure what happened during the development of Google Checkout, but what they released was dissapointing.

    I still hope they fix their system up, and become a contender in online payment processing.
