Membership Site & Separate Opt-In a little too much?

Good evening WF,

I am in desperate need of opinions.

I am starting up a membership site (be excited) and... everyone keeps telling me to link everything to an opt in form to build a list.

My main concern... is that its a membership site. I'm wanting to redirect them to the membership sales page, as that in itself is a list.

Should I be doing both, a free and paid option? or no?

    You should be using a membership script that automates adding members to your lists when they fill out the signup form for the site. Any decent membership script will have this already built in.
