Newbie looking for ADVICE from experienced marketeers

Hey guys,
Let me start by saying, this is the best forum around and I consider myself lucky to have access to pure gold at my discretion. So, after pondering for a while, I have decided to take the plunge in the IM world!
I am new to this and am looking for honest advice on my plans. I have read Joe Kumars' "30 Days to Internet Marketing Success" and was impressed by the quality and quantity of info which took me a long time to digest .
I know that the book is about 7 years old, and some of it 'could' be obsolete, but my question is for those of you who have read it, and Is It really POSSIBLE to generate substancial income in 30 days in todays world?.
My plan is to sort of imitate 'June Yeap's method which in brief goes like:
  1. Search for hot niches and topics
  2. Select your topic and scour forums to collect FAQs from real people on the problems they have.
  3. Compile a list of questions and then send it to renowned 'Experts' of the chosen topics and have them answered.
  4. Get back the answers, format them and then create them in a pdf format and bingo!, You have gotten yourself an ebook to sell.
  5. Collaboration with JVs wont be a problem as you can get to collaborate with the experts themselves.
The rough outline of my planned method goes something like the above. So, being a total newbie to this, I would like to know the feasability of the above mentiones plan. Any helpful suggestions, answers or comments would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ryzon

If you can complete stage 3 and get those experts to freely gives you those answers and let you publish in an ebook from which you intended to make money... yes it is aboslutely feasable.

PS. Not irony intended, is just that I've tried the same system like a year ago and I'm still waiting for those answers... but yet again, maybe I failed in the approach, anyways good luck to you pal

Thx for ur input, but there incentive would be a 75% commission rate on the ebooks they sell to their list(s). Just to spicen up the deal, I might throw in 100% commision rate for the first 10 ebooks they sell.

It took me a long time to realize that building your own product is not the first step.
Why worry about making your own stuff when you're not even sure if you can get traffic, and then convert it.

I suggest starting as an affiliate and building up a list which you can sell to.
This can be quite a difficult thing to do by itself.

Once you have a couple lists of dedicated buyers, you can worry about making your own product.
Just make sure that your product compliments what you sell to your list.
No one will thank you for selling them a different version of something they already bought - especially if its of lower quality. (common sense is easy to forget sometimes)

Thx dude. The reason I was contemplating my own ebook was due to several experts blueprints in '30 Days To Internet Marketing Success'. As I mentioned earlier, I am new to this, so I just thought, it might work for me too.

Your plan is fine in principle but as has already been pointed out getting Experts to take the time to answer your questions, and agree to be in a publication while in theory is something that is still being touted as a great way to make your own product. But first you have to find credible experts - then you have to be able to contact them directly (not at all easy in the IM niche ) - then you have to get them to agree to answer the questions, and let you promote them in your book (which should be okay if you have got past the first hurdles) - but simply offering them the opportunity to JV with you based on price is another hurdle you might not have considered yet.

Many people who are credible in their field are very picky about who they JV with so it should not be assumed that they might want to promote your product - if they have huge lists that they have spent time building a relationship with your product is going to have to be stellar in terms of quality for them to promote it - you are talking about people who are already making plenty of money in your niche so your offer of high commissions might not be enough.

Don't let me put you off by any means, but as has already been mentioned affiliate marketing is an easier way to build a list and then sell your own product to; or you could set up your own blog; build up your followers there (through social marketing, all free) and then promote your own product.

Best of luck - any questions PM me

well, it's not THAT difficult to get the experts on board.

forget about the top-of-the-top experts (the A-list), and go for the B and C list instead.

you could go to rtironline.com, find yourself a bunch of experts (usually authors who have written books and are still broke...), ask them to do an interview (where you ask them all the questions you want answered) and you've got yourself a great ebook/free report (with audio recordings as a bonus!)

when choosing your experts, make sure to check their websites and go for the ones who are building lists (i.e. have signup forms), so they can promote the call to their list.

But, if you want to do all this in 30 days, here's how I'd go about it:

build a simple website (sniper-style, so you get some organic traffic in the first month) aimed at promoting an affiliate product in your chosen niche.

at the same time, start writing to the experts and schedule calls.

that way you can add content to your site and encourage visitors to sign up to your list as you create the interviews.

I did this a few years ago and made the mistake of first waiting for all 12 interviews to be done (which took weeks) and then did the promotion, meaning there were looong weeks without any income from that site.

Once you've got one series under your belt, you can then show the results to the B or even A-players and get them on board.

just be persistent and keep asking (what tends to work best is if you can provide value to their audience. Yes, direct "bribes" like a crate of beer may work from time to time, but if you provide content that makes them look cool in the eyes of their list/audience, then they're much likelier to consider your proposition).

couldn't agree more - go for the ego and make them look good in front of their readers and they'll come back for more - and maybe tell their friends

By the way, have any of you read '30 Days to internet marketing success'. If so, my question is, are there methods still relevant in todays world.

Much of the information in that book is timeless, but more importantly, there's a lot between the lines. Instead of looking for step-by-step things, look for patterns and commonalities between the various marketers and how they'd approach the situation... because those patterns are still very much in evidence today.

    Hi Ryzon,
It's definitely possible to make an online income in 30 days.

I made mine in 3 weeks.
Here's the screenshot for the past 3 weeks this month:

My success relies alot on personal belief, focus and having a mentor to leverage my success.

This is what works for me.

    Hope it helps,
