List owners: what is the best day of the week to send out an email?

Different marketers/list owners have had different responses for mailings.

There is no "general rule" for when to post.

Keep in mind that the net is a global village and that you *should* be keeping track of where your visitors/subscribers come from. Webstats can help with this, but primarily, the best way to find that out is to put in an optional Country which has a list of where the subscriber can input which country they are from.

Then work your mailings around the majority of where they come from.

Your Autoresponder should be able to set a time of the day in advance for you.

So, the DAY is not as important as the TIME.

You may need to do some trial and error mailings to get the best responses.
Remember too, to change the subject and email, but have the same link for a promo.

I did this a few days ago and got a better response from the second mailing. Different subject line and different email body, with same link got more clickthrus.

In My experience, the best DAY to post is Saturday.

However, there is nothing wrong with doing a mid-week posting on Wednesday (in My experience, the second best day to post).

I personally prefer weekdays especially monday to wednesday. Got more click throughs rather than weekend emailings. Could be people don't login much onto their computers.

There is no answer to this that will be of use to you. You must test it. Period. You'll get all kinds of different answers if you ask others, and their results will not be applicable to you, anyway. This is one of those things with tons of variables that affect the outcome. The only correct answer is the one you get from your own tests, not the tests or results of others.
