I just wanted to encourage some people here with a current, real life example of how you really can go from "idea" to "windfall" when you just take action...
Some of you may have been watching our recent release of the "Ultimate Search Engine Loophole" - a joint venture between me and Dave Kelly.
Currently, just 3 days into our ClickBank shelf-life, we're already ranked as the #2 product in the Business to Business category (right underneath Michael Rasmussen's "Get More Buyers"), and #3 in the Marketing & Ads category.
The sales figures have been pretty amazing to say the least. (As have conversions).
But I want you to realize that this wasn't some well-executed product launch or a "Jeff Walker" rollout.
In fact, going the public ClickBank route was a last-minute decision. Ranking Loophole was originally just going to be a one-off product sold with a script like RAP as a "point of interest" to my list.
But then Dave and I got thinking, and we realized that MSN has been largely under-valued and overlooked by the Internet Marketing community.
We also knew that with the sheer proof we could offer - we could get some serious attention. At least from the webmaster community.
So we decided to do a WSO and pre-launch with my list, then maybe get a few interested affiliates from doing that, and then release it on CB.
And that's all we did.
A few people picked it up and promoted it, and because of the NEW subject matter - and the proof - it just snowballed from there.
So let's take a brief look at what made this "launch" a success:
1. The Product is Just Plain Sexy.
Ranking organically for any keyword you want. Doesn't get much sexier than that as a USP. That appeal, combined with the fact that this topic hasn't been done to death, provided an easy avenue for "snowballing" and buzz.
2. Proof & Compelling Copy.
The copy isn't hype-laden but it does paint a nice visual in the prospect's mind about what is possible, and it encourages them to visualize their ideal rankings, and what they could DO with those rankings (build a list, earn commissions, etc). It also has nothing to hype up since the results speak for themselves. It is what it is.
3. The Product is Actually Good, It Works, and We Actually Give a Damn
Dave and I have been answering emails non-stop the last few days, and we've also been adding content to the product and interacting with customers to help them succeed along the way.
This should be the standard for any product launch, but sadly, it's a rarity. This does wonders for goodwill AND word of mouth.
Plain and simple, our affiliates so far have seen some pretty nice results. A couple have mailed out for the second time now.
And that's about it.
As for how long this will last, I don't know.
We've already done WAY more volume than we originally anticipated, so I guess from here on in whatever happens is "found money".
I'll still be actively marketing it and recruiting quality affiliates and so on, but I just wanted you to realize what's possible when you've GOT SOMETHING and know how to sell it.
You don't need to be in bed with the "Gurus" to get some attention :-)
Just something to think about...
P.S. Also, just wanted to add that this is JV. Dave Kelly is the expert who provided the product, and I did the marketing stuff.
Think about how many experts there are out there who've GOT SOMETHING in various markets, but don't know how to get exposure, or maybe they just don't have the desire to market?
THAT is what "JV" really means, by the way, and THAT is truly their power. This is how you can effectively take an idea, make a bold statement and back it with your content, do some initial setup and then simply let the market "catch" it.
