People need to take the Fun out of Dreaming !!

I think this is a huge problem many face. I myself have done it before. Probably countless of times. And that is sitting in Bed or having a beer with good friends talking or sitting here in Warrior Forum talking how we could make this amount of money with this business and retire in so many years if we did that business etc..etc..etc

No question when you got a 'buzz' going on or just having fun relaxing here in Warrior, dreaming big is fun. It is !! I admit it. Its enjoyable .

Unfortunatley , this joy is short lived and can really get in the way because getting to that dream and succeeding is sometime ( actually many times) NOT fun at all.
Doing the little things in and out each day can be montonous and boring. But it is necessary if you want to get to your dreams.

So next time you find solace in dreaming big just remember ALL the little
(sometimes boring )things you have to DO before accomplishing that dream !!

I agree. I spent a lot of time thinking about how great it was going to be once the IM money started rolling in, but did little to make that actually start happening.

Little by little, day by day I have overcome that though. Now I spend at least 4-5 hours a day working on in (I have another full time job) and even when I am not directly working on it I am thinking of things to DO next time I CAN work on it.

Once you fully throw out the "get rich quick" fantasies, IM is actually quite enjoyable in its own right.

This is EXCELLENT advice, instead of talking so much and fantasizing, we should be working and implementing instead! I know that sometimes staying in the forum and chatting with like-minded people can be very inspirational, but if we don't take action on that inspiration it'll be a total waste of your time (all chat and no work results in absolutely nothing being done!)

I think that fantasizing and dreaming about where you eventually want to be is an AWESOME thing. You'd have absolutely no motivation to achieve anything in business if you didn't do so.

Just as a couple others have said, the big things is that people get overwhelmed by these dreams when browsing the WF and NEVER TAKE ACTION.

I was guilty of this when first starting out, but luckily I snapped out of it and focused on a clear direction.

I think the takeaway here is that people need to dream big for a while, create a clear goal(s), map out how you're going to get there and then DO IT!

It's so easy to dream... but just remember you actually have to do something about it to get there.

Yes, dreaming is okay, but a dream can never become a reality if you don't take action. Don't wait for things to happen - make them happen.

There's a flip side to the coin of dreaming big which can help you get motivated. Most people don't know about it, or avoid it because it seems a bit masochistic.
Unfortunately, from what I've heard, negative emotions are more powerful.

Dreaming big - Imagining the best possible things for yourself through your own action in 5,10,20 years.

The flip-side - Imagine where you'll you be if you do nothing. Focus on it, feel it. Where would you be in 5,10,20 years. It will happen if you don't take action.

Zeden_Rakam, thanks for posting that! I had a feeling that was true

6secrets, you said "The flip-side - Imagine where you'll you be if you do nothing. Focus on it, feel it. Where would you be in 5,10,20 years. It will happen if you don't take action."

That is interesting, and I used to believe that could be used as motivation also, which I think if it was the only option, it would still be worth something. But I do want to say here that I remember reading in the book Psycho-Cybernetics that your mind always drives you towards whatever it is that you're thinking about and focusing on, so it's always best to frame in your mind what you would enjoy becoming.

If you can't dream big then you probably won't get big...and I do believe that what the mind can conceive the person can achieve; but without action nothing is going to happen... speaking of which I had better get back to work; I am just lucky I do it from home and "oh look, it is time for another cuppa break"

    Have fun dreaming

But I LIKE dreaming about my private island paradise, personal jet and harem!

You guys took all the fun out of it!

But you're right, making your reality more fun than dreaming is a worthwhile goal and much more practical. So for my part I'm going to stop dreaming about the island and the jet...

You mean you don't have a harem yet? Harems are great because you can put them to work for you. You can also use the Craigslist adult services section and rent the ones that you aren't using out. With a harem, you get more sex, more work done, and an additional revenue stream.

i like everything you said especially the harem, island and jet part, but, I bolded what is really worthy of understanding. Now with that said I am about to look for a 9-5.

I started a thread on this forum titled: "What are you Doing Today To Make MONEY" or something to that effect. Basically I said this: If you are not doing something every day that actually makes money, then you will not get any closer to your goals.

I don't think it's necessary to take the fun out of dreaming. The greatest successes in life usually started with big dreams...fun, exciting dreams. It's the fun that sparks the excitement that in turn motivates a person to make the dream happen.

But, as many have already stated in this thread, action is the vital key to turning the dream into reality.

Take away the fun, IMO, and the dream (or motivation) will likely die.

Instead, keep the dream alive but remember to enjoy the journey while you make your dream a reality. (Hope that makes sense - it sounded better in my head than it looks on my monitor!)

My tone about fun in dreaming was geared more towards people (like myself in the past) who literally waste hours upon hours at a time shooting the bull with their friends on how they are going to strike it rich with the next big thing.

Of course from a practical view there is nothing wrong with putting the fun in dreaming. Just do it in MODERATION at APPROPRIATE times !!

Discrat, my apologies if I misunderstood your point, and I agree, just dreaming won't make a dream become a reality.
