No need to comment on the PowerPoint slides, those will be getting
redone, just the voice and don't worry, I have thick skin

    I thought your delivery was pretty good. Although it did seem a little commercial. I think if your came across a little more real and a little less commercial it would have more of an impact. The mic static was noticeable but didn't distract too much.

    Your voice and presentation sounded fine, although I prefer giving presentations from bullets rather than reading straight text. The more of these you do, the more relaxed and natural you will sound. Don't let your hesitation based on the way you think you sound keep you from taking action.

    If you're going to continue to produce these videos, I recommend investing in software that can do a little more than Jing. Camtasia, has some noise reduction built in that might be able to eliminate the buzz, for example. It can also handle multiple clips, titles, annotations, and lots of other stuff. It's not the only product out there, but it's pretty commonly used and known.

    Thanks for the pointers Kelly, I plan on using Camtasia. I only used Jing to get it put together quickly, this is only an example.

    Good suggestion on the bullet points as well greatly appreciated.

    I do a lot of these things and have some suggestions.

    (1) The buzz HAS to go. I'm not sure if its from your mic or your recording software (if you're using a cheap mic, that's probably the culprit), but it will be a huge turnoff to your viewers.
    (2) I strongly recommend that you don't read text from the slide. That is one of the most common sins among people making these types of presentation. Don't overdo the bullet points thing either. Instead, display key phrases from the monologue. This is to help reinforce the concept with the viewer. Take a look at this one:
    Advanced Marketing Strategies
    (3) You have a prefectly good voice for this. You might want to consider practicing to make it sound a bit more conversational.

    I actually just used the built in mic on my laptop, I have a much better quality mic I will be using.

    Get a friend to sit down across from you and practice explaining it to them. Your approach will be much more personal.

    I know they say pretend you are talking to a friend but the real thing is even better.

    If they understand what you are talking about already, they know enough to pretend they don't. If they don't know, then you will know if your points came across as you wanted.
