Yes, today is a good day. Finally i made my first sale and that's just the beginning

I sold my first product through my amazon review site. And it's not that hard at all. I picked a niche with low competition, did seo, wrote some articles and put affiliate links on my site. That's all. I don't know why there are so many WSO's. I did nothing special. No backlinkboosters, no profile backlinks, nothing. I did on page SEO and bought 300 Backlinks for 8 $, that's all. I have three websites: nr. 1, nr. 3 and nr. 4 position now. They gain higher rankings every week and i wrote the last articles 2 or 3 months ago...i don't know why some people say, you have to write an article every day to get better rankings...

The only hard thing in IM is to get the right infos. For me picking a niche and SEO are very simple things now. It's not that special like some people say.

Ok my tip for beginners:

Learn skill after skill!
1. Learn how to pick a good niche/market research/what a buying keyword is...

if you are good in that, learn

2. how to do SEO

if you can gain top rankings, learn

3. how to increase your click-through and conversion rates <-- there i am now

That's it.

I think it's a good way to start with selling physical products as an affiliate.
You don't have to write a saleslatter, you don't have to build a list, you don't have to create your own product and you don't have to compete with many internet marketers.

I will say congratulations on the sale first! Did state that you got your first sale today? Is that correct?

You also said that the last article you wrote was 2-3 months ago, yes? Most people expect results like yesterday and are likely to give up before they make their first sale. You, sir, have what many in this industry lack. Patience.

  Well done on your first sale & hopefully that will inspire you to continue in what you are doing & more sales. You have broked down that psychological barrier of the first sale, which is one of the hardest parts of IM.
  
  One of the key areas in article marketing is not only finding an in demand product but choosing the right keywords. You are better to be on page 1 of google for a not so popular keyword with low competition than, on page 2 of a very popular keyword with high competition.
  
  I made that mistake in the beginning & now I see quite a few of my articles on page 1 of google for related keywords to the article & product.

Of course i will optimize my website now. The funny thing is there is only 1 affiliate link on my site at the moment but i have 40 products on it. I concentrated on SEO first and did nothing for the last 2 months. At the moment my site is a wordpress site but i will give it a more professional look with "www.wix.com". (That's an online editor and yes you can gain nr. 1 positions with it, although it is based on flash. They optimized it for search engines)

So here is what i did and you can do:

1. Find a niche with the google keyword tool and make sure it's a buying keyword in it like test, review, buy or something like that

2. Market research, look at the top 3 results on google with that keyword.
The first place gets 42% traffic, the 10th place gets 3 % Traffic...so u wanna go for number 1 or number 10?? Look at Number of Backlinks, Pagerank and Onpage Optimization. The lower the better...I don't look at number of results. Even if u only have 10 search results for that keyword and all 10 pages are highly optimized u can't go for that niche. If u have 10.000.000 search results and the first 3 aren't highly optimized u can go for it. So look at BL, PR and OnPageSEO not at search results.

3. Create your site, write some reviews with keyword related stuff and COMPARE the products. What product is Nr. 1, Nr. 2, Nr. 3 and so on. I created a chart with a Top 10 Ranking of my products. If u click on a product u can read a review or you can buy it from this chart.

It's a VERY simple concept and i'm sure i can improve it a lot. I did no article submission or some of the other recommended stuff. Only On Page SEO and backlinks.

Now i will work on the layout of my site. I will try to get higher Click Through Rates and higher Conversions and will experiment with it until i can get the maximum amount of money from it. The good thing is once i am finished i can take the layout for any other of my future review sites. And then i try to get high rankings faster. I think backlinks are the main key for it.

Before i forget ,maybe somebody can answer me a question. I don't want to open a new thread for it:

Yes... you get the money. You've selected exactly the correct part. Put it in your website's HTML as:

<a href="
Then put the part you just excerpted beginning with 'http' and ending with the 'creative' portion... then
"> THIS IS THE ANCHOR TEXT (Like, click here for more details on this great Amazon product) </a>

I broke that link up so it doesn't create a link here... but you should get the idea.

By the way, here's a good trick... create a separate 'tracking id' for each website - that way, when you look at your Amazon report, you'll know which website gave you the sale. On your Amazon Associate's page, click on 'Account Settings' in upper right corner... then click on 'Manage your tracking ids'...

Just to answer why so many WSOs and Why people have to write articles - There are people of different nature. You're quite familiar with Amazon Associates, but there are people who don't like this way of doing business at all. And believe me there are hundreds of other ways to make money and that's why hundreds of WSOs are out there. People pick the one that best suits them.

About article writing, I'm sure you picked up a micro niche with less competition, may be that's why you didn't require much promotion. But there are people who love competition because they want 10 sales a day instead of 1 or 2 a day. For that promotion is must, and article writing is one of the best ways.

By the way, just curios to know one thing, who provides you with 300 backlinks for $8? Are they quality links or just profile links?

That links are 300 Social Bookmarks. I got them from the forum here. I think his name is WyzoMarketing. My rankings really improved after he was done with submission. But i had no backlinks before so it had a greater effect i think...

Congratulations on your first sale. You see, you really focused on the mechanics of keyword research and SEO and did it right, and not on the money. This is the crucial part that so many people seem to get wrong. The sales will naturally follow if you lay the proper foundation with proper keyword research, domain selection, and some simple SEO.
