Product Development - How Important is the Presentation?

I am currently developing my first product. It's a video and PDF product on creating your first website using WordPress from registering a domain name to using WordPress to build the site.

What I would like to know is, how important is the presentation of the videos and the PDFs? The videos are very simple screen captures with myself narrating over top and the PDFs are quite simple as well. Nicely laid out with headings and screenshots but certainly nothing fancy.

I feel the information is the most important aspect but I wonder if a little fancying up of the information wouldn't hurt.

    When you say fancying up what did you have in mind.

    When your customers watch the video tutorials as long as your tutorials are well narrated and easy to follow anything other than a little 15 second royalty free music at the beginning will be a distraction.

    I would concentrate on the design of your DVD case and CD-Rom (if that's the format you're using) if you want to make it fancy use a professional printing service such as Kunaki to make the products up for you.
