How To Find Beta Testers For A New Site / Product

Hello

My new web 2.0 review site is ready to go. I just need a couple beta testers that are reliable and honest. Would be great if they where affiliates too.

Its a user generated membership site that costs zero to join and zero to use.

For me and all the other IMers needing testers, how do the more experienced members find testers?

Thanks

Andrei

    Hi Andrei

I'm in a similar situation and have found Beta Testers:

    - via Twitter (actually quite a few of them)
    - directly by meeting with other Internet Marketers in person
    - with an opt-in on the site soliciting Beta Testers

You might even pick up a few on this thread!

Best of luck with your product.

What I did with Twitter was I built up followers in the same field (in this case Internet Marketers) as my target audience. I did that simply by following them and in turn many followed me back. And I communicated individually with some them occasionally as well via direct messages.

After that I just periodically tweeted how the project was going and every now and then I'd ask for Beta Testers and directed them to an sign-up page.

This was last year when I was fairly active on Twitter and had about 2800 followers. I netted about 40 or 50 of my Beta Testers from Twitter.

I imagine one could do the same thing with Facebook. I actually may be doing it again very soon for a different target market and in preparation I've been building up a different demographic of followers (Amazon Kindle and other eReader enthusiasts this time).

Hope thats of some use to you - your project sounds interesting and I'm sure you won't have a lot of trouble getting people who are interested in putting it through the paces.

100% agree. Goto your market and ask. Sometimes you need to add some benefit eg free product but be careful you don't want the freebie seekers

We don't really have a list or many followers on twitter and are looking for some beta testers. We have a pending WSO but feels odd for us to pay to give away something for free. Seems it takes days to have a post accepted in the war room...

I'm guessing putting a post up in main forum is against the rules?

I see a few requests for beta testers on the Warrior Forum JV Section, I think you can try that too. Looking at the WF for testers is not a bad idea as you can approach warriors with certain amount of posts and reputation to test it for you. And these warriors will certainly give you honest feedback as well

    All the best
