Hi! I just wanted to share my euphoria - I have a site that competes for a really competitive keyword. I'm nowhere near the top 10 in google for my main page - in fact the best ranking is one of my inner pages ranked about 100 in google.

I've been article writing, web 2.0 linking, adding to my blog etc.. and because of another post I found here at WF - I edited and added to all my product descriptions.

Well, today it all paid off! I got the wonderful e-mail - "Payment Received"! and boy was today a great day to get that - yesterday I was lamenting all my hard work and wondering when I might see some results!

So - all the rest of you out there waiting for a sale - it's just around the corner!

Yahooo!

Christine

  • Congratulations!

When you keep working hard, success will actually come to you.

Keep working and you'll see even more sales
  • Congrats!

How long did it take, if you don't mind me asking?
  • Well done

Your first sale is like your first kiss, you will remember it for the rest of your life.

    • You got that right, even though right
now I can't remember which is more
memorable for me, my first kiss or my
      first sale,

      Kingsley
  • Congratulations!

This IM stuff is a lot of fun, and making money off of it makes it even better.

    • Congrats Christine,

Now rinse, repeat and double the effort.

You've just learnt and applied the 2 most important lessons - Keep it Simple and This Takes Hard Work!!

Set yourself small, incremental targets to start with to keep your belief and desire up - i.e. First Sale, Second Sale. 1 Sale a Week. 1 Sale a Day etc etc.

      Well done!

      Regards

      Rufus
  • Congratulations on your success!Keep up the good work!Hard work as i always say DOES finally pay off!The first sale makes you feel that at the end is worth the shot taking!

  • Congrats! I think that one of the most important things when you have a product is : patiente. Because even if you work hard and you get dissapointed, just wait a moment because the sale could be on the next corner, as you said.
  • Thanks Everyone!

To answer the question "How Long Did it Take"? The site went live in May, I was heavily promoting in June - went on vacation in July and started tweaking and working on it again in August.

Now clearly I'm going to be ramping it up!
  • Congrats! And the best part is that the types of things you are doing have a cumulative effect so hopefully you will start seeing more and more sales coming faster and faster!

  • Great to hear! Super feeling, isn't it? Bet you can't stop grinning.

Print off a copy of that first payment notice, frame it, and stick it up on the wall - any time you feel a bit unsure, look at it and feel uplifted and positive.

Look forward to you putting a post up in a few months' time saying you've reached your 100th / 1,000th sale!

    • Congratulations. Make sure to track to see where that sale came from, so that you can find ways to focus in on your marketing more.
  • Congratulations on the sale. I bet you was really excited to get that email.
  • The cool part is if you can make 1 sale you can make 10... 100... 1000.... Just do more of what worked and less of what didn't ;-)

    • Congratulations on your success. Sometimes it does take some time, but once you get over that hump more and more sales begin coming in....
  • Great job Christine. It is always hard in the beginning
and it can feel like you are wasting time dreaming, but
once that 1st sales comes in you want to brag to
    everyone you know...especially the naysayers
  • That's awesome Christine.

Try to find out where that magical click came from and build up your efforts there.

Then find related/similar sources (web sites, article sites, blogs, etc. - wherever the click came from) and ramp up those efforts.

    Feels amazing, doesn't it? Congrats.
  • Thanks all for the cheers! I'm *still* smiling!
  • Another great success - well done - the forum seems full of them today - but you must be over the moon

Like everyone has said anything is possible now - you only have to find that one thing that works and then keep at it.

    I am thrilled for you
    Best wishes
    Lisa

    • That is really fantastic!!I can't wait to make my first sale.
  • Congratulations on your tenacity. I wish you sales into whatever stratosphere of earning you desire. You deserve it. it will keep coming. Actually, there is no better outward feeling than going to your email and seeing that message. I think that is addictive and that is why we do Internet Marketing.
Cause when you open up a paycheck, you get the opposite feeling
